All I wish would be just a superwide-range camera for you there because I'm not travelling that far away.

You can probably guess that during the first video people's loud cheers are a happy reaction to a new giant kite standing up. It is a huge effort to make it stand, and some of the worked filmed in the first video show the communal effort. Each giant kite is built for months by a group of people, sometimes family, sometimes friends or other groups of small communities. Some of the themes were personal, other themes were very symbolic and I admit I could not understand them, while a few of the kites had clear political messages.

Please feel free to comment. I like even critical comments, I learn from them. But of course, you can make positive comments too. And if you have never been to Guatemala, my advice is: go!

I normally mention the title of the music and name the musicians in my films, but this time I forgot. It's too late. But I guess many people will recognise the music played during the first part of the film, while showing still photos: Bob Dylan, Knocking on Heaven's Door. Afterwards during the first video you can hear the sounds I was hearing around me while filming, then during the second video what you hear is the local musicians' live music played for the festival.
