Excellent, and thanks for a really *useful* demo of the Bartolini 9S Deep Tone single coil Jazz pickup set. I was wondering about them. Now, I really like them. Thanks so much for indicating what's in your signal chain. I'm going back to listen to all the videos in this series, again, because I know the signal chain is respectably uncolored. Thanks also for keeping the signal direct, with no room sound!. Great job on these videos, guys.!

I used to consider "typical" Barts to sound very hi fi with a bright, airy quality--about the closest one could find to an active pickup sounding passive bass pickup. I see now that they are also capable of warmer, more vintage sounds. I would consider this a very dark sounding Jazz bass and would assume it was a P or PJ if I were doing a blind listening test. Barts definitely deserve more attention, especially their guitar pickups (about as rare as an Ampeg guitar amp). Schaller also used to make pickups but I think they are discontinued.

Bartolini has quite a wide range of pickups. There are some folks who just know them for the rolled off top end! Lots of great stuff to choose from within their catalog. Thanks for checking out the vids!
