Try walking at night. It's really sad. There's so much potential here and it should be a collective shame for the people of Hamilton that this street is in the state that it is. Not sure what the excuse is for the vacant buildings, but some of these are close to or more than 100 years old and need to be preserved.

I can sympathize. I lived in Hamilton too on Wellington St. South until last November when my family and I moved to New Brunswick seeking to live a better life. So far, we have embraced the change in atmosphere, having good jobs again and living free of enforced lockdowns.

Lived there in the East end my whole life. (58 years). Now I thank God I moved during the pandemic. It was once a proud working class, blue collar city. Shoutout to Eissenburg and Horvath for turning it into a filthy, disgusting, drug infested shithole.

I once lived in the corner house on east Ave then moved straight to Whitney Ave way better. Now I live in Sudbury where I came from. Hamilton has great mountain biking and Hess st is cool but the dumb gang fights and stick up kids. I kicked many of ass walking out of yuk yuks almost getting jumped. I lived in Hamilton in 2000 Looks like a ghost town now. The sidewalks were always busy with people walking down Barton. Oh yeah I remember like 2 really really sketchy bars on Barton one was mob one was a strip joint. Miss those mob boys they were really nice to me on many occasions working at Ziebart on main.
