Today we're fishing an upland stream in the Savannah River drainage because we're targeting the Bartram's Bass. The Bartram's Bass is an upland species of black bass and a member of the sunfish family Centrarchidae. There are seven upland species of black bass and so far we've seen: the Warrior Bass, the Cahaba Bass, the Redeye Bass, the Tallapoosa Bass, the Chattahoochee Bass and the Altamaha Bass. Bartram's Bass are native only to the Savannah River drainage above the Fall Line. Habitat loss resulting from land-use changes and hybridization with illegally introduced/nonnative species of black bass are the greatest threats to this species.
Bartram's Bass feed mainly on crayfish, insects, other invertebrates and fish
Average size for the Bartram's Bass is around 8 inches and they max out around 14 inches.
I hope you like the video and as always...
THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!
