FANTASTIC VIDEO! I've dedicated my 8'x10' cargo trailer to my wilderness adventures. In it, I keep all my camping/hunting gear squared away and good to go. My wilderness adventures are usually 10-14 days long. I like Whiteduck Regatta bell hot tents for my 4-season shelters. My tent shelters are just big enough to accommodate the basics; cot, chair, folding card table, and wood stove for heat. For meals, I have my coleman propane stove with cooking pot and skillet. For water, I like to take several cases of bottled water, backed up by a water filtration system. For food, I prefer the freeze dried meals to discourage nuisance bears. And of course, I have my sidearm and long rifle. As the old-west saying goes, "I wouldn't send any man alone in to the wilderness without a knife, long rifle, sidearm, and a good horse under him!"

I like your setup. I have a 4x4, and two offroad trailers I built myself. One holds all food, and the other which is larger supplies my gear. Of I bug out my wife will tow one and I tge other. I have a 4 season 12x20 tent that has a stove for heating. Two separate tents for a shower and a toilet. I bought a bedside toilet to go inside the tent. It breaks down and assembles in seconds. Totally worth having by the way. The trailer has a kitchen, fridge, water tank for showers, solar panels, and the rest of the gear like sleeping bags, cots, and a 4in foldable mattress. I also have a sub sleeping blanket when it gets real cold. I live in Colorado US. And it can get real cold here. We take it camping in the summer as well.

Hey thanks for sharing your setup that is really interesting. Sounds like you've got a complete base camp. Most important is the fact that you guys are a team and that you go camping with the gear. C

Good idea just thinking you only need a couple of small ones to charge a dozen small batteries then pop up a Polish lavviu. Good practice for the tribulation. Well done Clarise Stephen

Hey Stephen... exactly my thoughts. Practice. I need to add a wood stove to this setup then I think it will be ok during the colder months. I think you can do that in a lavvu as well. C

Nice. But, personally, I wouldn’t go for such a big camp. Small and mobile for us. And I have found that 120w solar is fine (we don’t have an ice machine) 😂. Take care and looking forward to the next video.

Hey Steve! Thanks for your comment. For satellite camps I would definitely take out a smaller camp kit. I have however found that for long term use it's nice to have a base camp setup where you don't constantly need to duck out the exfils. The head and shoulder room makes living at camp for extended periods much more doable. 120w is perfectly fine for most folk in sunny areas. Glad to hear you've got your camp kitted! C

Great content, as always. I would rather set up 2 tents, as it will be easier for me. As you said, each person is different, and so are our needs. Remember to out the gasoline, in a cool dry place... Thanks for your input and advice.

Two tents are actually a great idea. Storing food and edibles in a separate place from where you sleep would be wise. Thanks for your comment Stefan! C

This is the fixed camp setup even though it's still a mobile camp. For smaller concealed satellite camps one can use smaller shelters but they won't serve as well for a base camp. One thing I have realised, from wild camping with a bright yellow tent, is that the size, shape and colour of your shelter doesn't matter as much as campsite selection. You can have any setup as long as you are careful about where you pitch. I've managed to conceal that bright yellow tent with my fire in a dense forest far off the beaten track before. The only problem then is vehicle access. Thanks for dropping your comment! C

Great show, so happy that I found this. This might be a long shot but I'm based in Gauteng, this might be a long shot but is there any places like the one in your video near me or how can I go about finding something similar as I would like to better my skills and see what it takes to survive.

Hey there! Thanks for your comment. The best advice I can give you in finding a bug out location or somewhere remote is to go wild camping. Find some friends who like to go camping in the bush and go with them. Eventually you're going to start expanding your horizons to the more secluded places. You're closer to the Kruger and Hoedspruit area, you should find lots of wild camping spots in that direction. You could also download the iOverlander app, People post info on wild camping spots on there. Hope that helps, C

Good morning C! I'd say go with the 3rd solar panel cause it wouldn't hurt to have just in case. If anything it could be used for those cloudy days or have it as a backup if one of the other 2 gets damaged. And I decided on Chui for the name.
@LiveReady

A leopard then! I think it's fitting. Hopefully not that much prey ends up in your house. The third panel is a good idea. Especially in the WC where I am, we have wet winters and not that much sun when it's actually needed. Hope you're having an awesome weekend. C

I'll just find a cave and let my dragons feed me if my alien family abandon me. 🤣 Best is to ask God to feed me if bug out means to survive during the cup of His wrath being poured. Because everyone will have a headache when the time comes. 😂😂😂 Many will die. And if i have to die, all i want is a quick peaceful death. 😄 Cos, hey... we're all humans after all. 😃

Absolutely. I love how you say everyone will have a headache. I think so many people think they will just pick the easy route and be done with the drama. The truth, as you've stated it, is that everyone will be affected. Thanks for this. C
