You can probably add a simple bit of funky trees code that adds pitch to the canards so you can do even more agile maneuvers too! Nice little bit of code that you can work with!

Nose weights is crucial in simpleplanes sometime I manage to build a plane without dead weight in the front and it's still stable it just go loop to loop if you don't have that

Stability is the distance between CoM and CoL. Plane will become unstable if CoM and CoL is close. If CoM is too close it'll loop as you said. If CoM is too far it'll be hard to pitch.

Using canards for this is actually kind of a cheat code, as the deflection of canards to decrease their angle of attack, makes the aircraft stable due to the canards generating temporarily no, or zero lift, and thus plane flies as if the canards werent there (that is with CoL moved back, and hence as if the plane was stable)

For some reason when I'm in a complete stop the wings move rapidly but when I start moving it stops, is there a way to fix that, or like a code so it only activates when I'm at a certain speed?

This is super cool! Thx! Is there any benefit to an unstable plane over a stable plane? I know that IRL, instability is important for the manouvreability of fighters. But is there a real benefit to going artificially stable vs actually stable?

Actually unstable aircraft react faster so it's control surfaces can move less to archive the same movement resulting in less drag and smaller actuator. An artificial stability can be turned off so you can push the limit when needed. Like my build, I turn the stability off to do PSM and turn it back on when I want to fly normally.

@@zmyslowykalosz perhaps in the funky tree input of the canard you multiply the whole expression by the output of a toggle, so when toggled its 1 meaning it has no effect and the code works as normal, but when switched off it's 0 which when multiplied by the expression nullifies it and keeps the canard in level position

The number after / should correspond to your rotator angle (Range of Motion) because that gives you the most stable PROPORTIONAL gain

If the number is greater than Range of Motion the canard will still contribute to unstableness, if smaller the canard will actually fight the unstableness, if equal the canard will not contribute or fight off the unstableness and behave like there is no canard at all. Edit: By unstableness I mean excess angle of attack.

you have to move the Centre of mass (red) behind the centre of lift (blue), Just like if you'd throw a arrow backwards

May i ask, how do u separate codes? I did the clamp(Pitch-PitchRate/120,-1,1) * clamp01(Activate1) + Pitch * clamp01(1-Activate1) on a hinge rotator, i wanted it to alternate but instead, the angle of the hinges rotation increased

Depends on the wing layout, airfoil, overall weight distribution - and also thrust! Try playing around with these factors one by one. It'll come to you eventually.

Hey guyfolk, i require guidance once again, can you tell me how to make my plane roll better at higher angles of attack without the use of TVC? On my same plane i mentioned in other comments im able to controll roll very well even at high AoA with TVC but when i turn it off i lose all roll while pitching at an AoA of 20ish-30ish degrees. Btw i dont reallt want to use canards as im making a stealth fighter. Oh yea and as a temporary solution im making the roll thrust vectoring active at all times

Yeah, if it going the way you want to move the plane will stall and flip. Your comment explain it all actually, for pitching up canard initially at neutral position so the plane will pull up easily and when the plane start flipping canard going against what you want to move to keep the plane from actually tipping over. It does "going against what you want to move to and plane stops flipping" but not before kick starting the turn first. That's one of the advantage of relaxed stability plane, quick to response to command.it

The range of motion for the canards is way too much, it should be 10-15°, it rotated in the right direction at first, I don't know why you changed it
