This is great. I did some china painting 40 years ago. My mum also painted and I have all her brush and paints. I have a kiln and want to have another go. You talk about open and closed oil what are they. I am in Australia so some names are different. Sharn

Open medium is like mineral oil, it does not dry. Closed medium usually contains oil of copaiba which dries faster as you paint, not allowing for corrections or changes as easily. There are several porcelain art groups in Australia who are also on FB if you google them, you should be able to make some connections.

@@ebrausta5075 Open oil usually doesn't have a lot of copaiba in it which dries quickly. Dallaschina.com carries it, Lisa will answer your questions. I also carry it, my website is www.vidascollectibles.com
