This is a nice series of videos. Unfortunately, you did not go over calibrating the ESCs. I think it's the only VERY important aspect of building this quad you did not cover in your videos. In any case, this has been great help. Thank you.

Thanks a lot for these. Starting my first build soon and these definitely helped me understand how all the components fit together. Until now I've only flown an mQX but I'm going to try using an H-frame like the QAV500 as my primary goal is AP/AV/FPV. Do H-frames fly much different than standard quad frames?

Great stuff! Thank you for putting the effort in to make these videos. I'm going display my ignorance 'though. Here in Australia most of us tend to fly Mode 1. Does that propose any difficulties? Also, what controls what? Throttle is altitude, Elevator pitch, Aileron roll and Rudder Yaw?? What is the auto level function and when is it used?

Just a fabulous tutorial but the price for the Hoverfly PRO or the SPORT you can buy a RTF quadcopter with all of the bells and whistles. But thanks you again for making this video. I have learned a lot on how to make one. Keep up the great work.

Good videos! I would add in the description to change the ESC out of the LiPo modes. The esc beeping 3 times after you started up indicates the number of LiPo cells. You don't want this as the rotor will flip when one of the ESC shuts down. #just a tip! :D

As a complete novice, I now have the confidence to build my own drone. The prices of RTF drones are crazy, as every one is making their living off of a sale, manufacturer, wholesaler, retail, all + V.A.T, you get the point. It is sending the cost of these, to high, especially when the odds of it "flying away" are high. Very nice Video!, easy to watch, very well done. Thanks for sharing.

How much for all the components? Is there better batteries for these drones. 25mins fly time is poor. Is there a way of using a sim card onboard to control via phone? This could give longer range.
