For Americans the quick unpick is known as a seam ripper! Be sure to ask for that if you're buying one in an American store or they'll have no idea what you're talking about.

Hello! I’m kind of new to the furry fandom! This is my first year and I’m making a Dinomask and have no idea how to sew or anything. Thank goodness my mom has sewing stuff though. I’m a little confused how to sew curved edges. Tysm for this tutorial it really helped. I’m gonna use the blanket stitch for my hood and ears!:3

Hi! I’m a bit experienced in sewing and I have a few tips. First try using a smaller more close together stitch. Try keeping them the same distance apart, it doesn’t matter if there is small variations but variations more than a quarter inch aren’t exactly good. If you are using a machine experiment with different stitch styles. And with both are you keeping about a half inch “flap” just for sewing? Make sure when you are tying off make it TIGHT. I hope this helps!

like Xoffles said, use smaller sewing lines, but to make it better, most makers in their tutorials will tell you to brush out the seams, and it decreases the seam line's visibility.

Brand new to sewing and stuff and wondering, when working with fur, if there are instances where I should be using a machine vs. hand stitching or is it just personal preference? Just got myself an old straight-stitch machine and would be totally game using it for joining these fur bits if there's no real visible difference vs. hand blanket stitching them.

i do have a question for you. Why is the blanket stitch the preferred stitch to fur suits. I have just learned to do this by hand and find it fascinating. :) Is it because it's friendly to the fabric or really strong or both? BTW Love your videos and when I first learned to make a head my skills at first came from your videos. I also watched the horror story of your video you elaborated with us of the glue gun incident. Scary stuff. I have one too, but it was a bad burn. I hope you are well these days and wish you success in your art. :)
