A great coach once said, “if you don’t like Lionel Messi, then you don’t like football” and 73 goals in a season is insane. We praise players who get double digits. If you make 17 goals in a season, that’s very impressive, if you make 30, you’re one of the best in the world, now imagine 73. He’s done 90 in one year

18:23 73 goals in a season was unprecedented. The previous record was 67 and had been standing for 40 years. The 91 goals was in a calendar year (january->december) not in a season (august->may). Both records are equally ridiculous.

13:20 that might be true in basketball but football is so tactical, the coach is more important than any player on the field. If the coach is bad he can make the best players look like shit and vice versa. It's not like basketball where 1 player can just do everything for the team, if the tactics are off you ain't gonna win shit. That's why it's normal in football to have teams like Man united rn that look amazing on paper but suck irl. In football the coach is the biggest difference maker on the team.

Same with The Argentinian team before Scaloni had been hired, they were a dumpster fire and every international fight always seemed like the tactic was give messi the ball fr, for some time it works but Messi does not have unlimited stamina. Their 2014 run was a massive showing of why relying on messi alone won't work and it showed on the tournament, They were struggling every single fight, unlike this world cup, actual tactics employed, more formations flexibility, and It's actually 10 players and a Messi unlike back then when it was Messi and 10 players

If you score 20+ in a season you're amazing, if you score 30+ you're one of the best in the world, if you score 40+ you're probably the best in the world. Messi and CR7 scored 50+ for 8 seasons straight, which is unheard of, 73 in a season is the all-time record, held by Messi.

Barcelona signed Messi when he was just 13 and they were the only club willing to pay for his 100k+ hormone therapy (he was lacking growth hormones) so in other words Barcelona got his family out the ghetto and made him into the player he is and after 21 years there I bet it's very hard to leave, especially when you didn't want to in the first place

I’ll put you into perspective what 91 goals mean. 91 goals amounts to any other amazing striker’s 4 to 5 seasons combined goals IF that player is consistently scoring 15-20 goals per season for 5 years

His icon card will be the first to be a 100 one ;) I've been watching and playing football for more than 35 years and I've never seen any player remotely near him in terms of talent, footballing IQ, numbers, efficiency and longevity. By winning the WC in 2022 he finally completed football, not that he wasn't already one of the greatest before that and his trophy cabinet not full enough. He's the best player to ever graze a football pitch. Period. And I'm saying that as a big Maradona fanboy.

coaches in football actually do have a big meaning in a team performance but not individually. coaches set up tactical plays wether it’s defensive or attacking they also decide where a player is going to be playing, etc.

It's true coaches can't win u games but they are responsible about the superiority of the team if the team struggles to create danger and play well then the coach is not doing his job right, so yes coaches can't win games but they are the reason behind why you win games ! for the 91 goals yes, 91 is the greatest in history in one season 😉 messi is something else entirely 👑🐐

13:40 yes they're literally playing like that because of Pep, it's his playstyle called "Tiki-Taka" he's also implementing it at Man City and won 3 premier league titles in the last 4 years with them. Sir Alex Ferguson for example won 13 Premier League titles in 26 years with Man Utd and that can mainly be attributed to him, his coaching staff and the scouts who found all those talents. You gotta watch games on the regular to understand how tactical this sport is.

Messi is not flop at PSG,messi is winger in PSG ,and messi was winger in barcelona also,in barcelona ,players were used to pass to messi mostly to score goals even if there was a striker in barcelona, and, messi is a winger in PSG and mbappe is a striker there and most PSG players are used to pass ball to mbappe mostly to score a goal even before messi's arrival in psg, mbappe is so fast also ,and scores ton of goals before messi's arrival also,so after messi's arrival also, psg players are used to pass more to mbappe in compared to messi to score,so messi has to do playmaking to create chance for himself and for others also, messi is not selfish,he is now goes to underside to play and make passes and do midfielding and give passes, messi has given a lot of assists to mbappe and mbappe has scored that goals, messi does not get enough passes there at PSG ,so he does not have so much goals there, and whatever chances messi gets there when players passes to him,he has utilised every chances but no one can convert every chances into goal, the same applies to messi also,so renson is simple-PSG PLAYERS AND COACH BELIEVES IN MBAPPE MORE AND PSG PLAYERS GIVE PASSES TO MBAPPE MOSTLY TO SCORE GOALS COMPARED TO MESSI

13:26 If you want to understand it better, you need to see football like a chess game between two coaches... the players are just the pieces being moved on the board! Everything revolves around the coach/manager at a football club. He is the big daddy, he decides transfers, contracts, training schedules, training types, tactics, player rotations, you name it! He brings to the club the pieces he likes in order to successfully play chess against other managers and everyone else at the club works for him (assistant coaches, fitness coaches, goalkeeper coaches, dieticians, doctors, physiotherapists, scouts etc). At the top level, these guys are geniuses. Same philosophy applies to European basketball btw! 😉

If you wonder why he was so emotional, think about it from this angle. You're 13 years old. You leave your country (Argentina), your family and friends to live in Spain and work for the football club. And you stay there and do that for the rest of your life. And now you're 34 years old. This club is pretty much all you know. He wanted to retire there, but they were unable to keep him due to financial problems. Another thing is... Messi had a growth deficiency problem as a child. Treatment was too expensive for his family. People told him "you will never be a footballer". But Barcelona paid for his treatment because they believed in him. And now look at him.

neymar knows how to finish very well, at barcelona it was his role, and he did it very well, in 2015 he scored goals in all the knockout phase games of the champions and was the top scorer. In the Brazilian nacional team he is the second with the most goals, behind only Pele (and he will pass in a little while). You know who else is Brazilian? ronaldinho, ronaldo fenomeno and many others, and neymar has more goals than all of them. In psg it is not his main role, since his position on the field has changed and now he has mbappe, and even then he continues to score goals and play very well.
