"Salty Dog Blues", as made famous by Lester Platt and Earl Scruggs (written by Wiley A. Morris and Zeke Morris) is a song that utilizes the 1-6-2-5 chord progression. This progression is found in jazz standards, Western Swing, pop, as well as Bluegrass. And, the chords can be found right under your fingers with minimal to no shifting! We'll look at several patterns and ways to find these chords, going around the circle of fourths to get familiar with the fretboard. Part one starts in the key of G, and moves through C, F, Bb, Eb, and Ab.
