Steve and Vic are two totally different players. They each have their own style and technique, and that in itself, should be appreciated. The coolest part is how the both of them play off of each other and complement what the other is doing. They're both quite brilliant in their own ways. Victor doesn't play 6-string fretless harmonic stuff, and Steve doesn't play all the slap and hammer-on stuff. Just appreciate the fact that they are both incredible at what they do.

Own this DVD, it is absolutely incredible. Victor came to Sacramento a few months back and we had the chance to see him in a really small venue. Only a hundred folks or so. If either of these guys perform anywhere close to you, it is worth it to see this happen live. You won't believe what you hear.

Well, I don't know about Jamerson, but I'm pretty sure Jaco would love this: he was arguably the most inventive bass player on the planet until his untimely death, and to see these two guys playing all the parts of a song (just as Jaco advised all musicians to be able to) would be awesome for him.

Since you're only 22 you don't understand. I was playing bass in the early 70's. When Jaco came around all us bass players started to think differently about how the bass should be played and it's roll in the band. Sure there were others expanding the roll of the instrument but Jaco took it to a whole new level. You my friend are the one who needs to expand their brain.

JEAG Yes, I'm a bass player. I've just completed my 15 song CD that took me quite a while. Now that it's done, I find that my skills and music theory have really taken a hit, so I am diving right into it and getting all my reading and theory up. I also have a Jaco Pastorious book with all his greatest works in it that I want to finish as well. Currently I have a sapphire black Bong bass in layaway, and I've built my own custom bass.
