Every bass pro shop but I have been in, has it clearly posted on their signs that 10% is required to finance through them (which is usually about six different banks underneath the White Water flagship). When I bought my tracker I went through my own credit union. However, I did have to put a hold on my credit card for 500 which was released once I took delivery.

15 year loan is insane. Not only would this guy be a fool to signup for this, this type of lending should be illegal. He would have paid as much in interest as the cost of the boat. The boat would have been worn out and scrapped in 10 years and he’d still owe 15k on it. I cannot fathom the idea of signing a loan like this. This video shows so many examples of why our education system is a complete failure. Instead of teaching art, the schools should be teaching about money and physical fitness.

Dude, you NEVER ever buy a brand new boat. It is the biggest mistake most people make. Boats lose at least half of their value the moment you drive it off the lot. I bought a 1998 18 ft Ranger w/ a 150 Evinrude with an electronic jack plate for $5800 that looked brand new from an old man, and I ran that boat for years til I sold it. Blue book values don't mean shit when it comes to buying used boats. You can find KILLER deals, but you have to be willing to fix some things. For example, my boat needed new bilge pumps and wiring. I rewired it and got new pumps for under 100 bucks. When I sold it I got $4500 for it and it was worth every penny in my opinion. Never buy a brand new boat.

Saying they lose half their value is a bit of an exaggeration. New boats come with fresh warranties on the outboards too, something that it essential for the serious tournament anglers who put 100's of hours on their outboards a year. But yes, you do take a depreciation hit once you drive a brand new boat off the lot.

Thats why you go to an actual boat dealership you dont gonthru some big corperation like bass pro shop i have never seen a real dealership charge anything to run credit also he cant tell you he would need 10% down until after he runs your credit because it is the loan company that desides weather you need the dowm payment or not not the place selling the boat plus they just pocket that 250 not the loan company
@alanshaw4655

right !. something is fishy here ( no pun intended )..what he's not telling in this video ?..is how good his credit score is ?..lol. any large purchase such as this will require you to put 10% down when you finance through a company such as BPS. 10% down is the normal when you finance with not so great credit.
@matthewcarvill5936

man stay away from Bass Pro your best bet is find yourself a decently used boat that way there you don't lose your ass cus like anything brand new the value drops immediately as soon as you take it man. my pops just nabbed a used boat from a guy who used it for 15hrs TOTAL for WAY UNDER what it woulda costed from a dealer

100% of Marine Financing loans require a 10% down payment. I've never seen a loan that didn't require it. Unless you do a Heloc, or some type of OTHER loan, you better have that pocket cash.

Why didn't you just go with a local bank or credit union. Once approved they would give you the check to go buy your boat. I purchased a boat from bass pro and took a check from my credit union. No application fee, $0 down payment. It was like I was paying cash. It went pretty smooth. Hope you were able to get a new boat. When buying a boat, always try to buy new. Used boats always come with problems. Nobody gets rid of a good boat.

BassPro said good buy to the profit, not the 31k the deposit was to hold/order the boat. They haven't looked at your credit report to see if they can even sell you a damn boat. Also you left them your credit info with permission to submit it to any bank they want. Nothing hidden at all. Educate yourself about what you are trying to do. 31k on a tracker?
