Is there anything you haven’t heard? I’m a fan of their cover of John Mayer’s “In the Blood” but it sounds pretty straightforward. “Blue Ain’t Your Color” has a nice throwback sound and choreography. And now there are the 3 Stargazer videos.

Almost wonder if his range is wider than Tim's since he sings tenor and can get quite high it seems but the "bass" notes he can generate during beatboxing are also amazing. In live concert, three of them shook the entire venue with their lows: Tim, Chance, and Adam.

A number of famous singer "perform" this song, but this was more of a prayer. Adam brings in that 5th voice beautifully. Some of the high sustained note that shows in places is Tim, some is Adam. That last low note is Chance and Tim together. And Darren is an extremely gifted arranger.

The video was shot in the Austrian Alps, a fantastic background for this song. The guys from Home Free have perfectly expressed the pure beauty of this song. The harmonies are so precise and flawless, it's brilliant. Someone once commented on this: this is no longer acapella, this is voice painting. And I can only agree with that. Semi-long story alert... The first time I watched this video I lost it in a good way. When the guys get to the final verse and sing "...in humble a-dor-a-tion", it took me back 50~ years to when I was a little shaver singing this hymn in church along side my father, who sang bass in the choir. At that age I was singing the soprano part; now I'm singing along with Tim's bass part. I hadn't heard that hymn in 30-some years. Lost pop 17 years ago this summer, but each time I watch this video it brings him back to me and I smile through my tears of that memory. Thank you, Mr. Barber, for releasing this video and having it pop up in my feed this afternoon.

4 and5 part harmony (Adam is adding extra high tenor) pretty much demands dissonance unless 2 or more voices are on the same note. I love the long smooth resolves HF is giving to those crunches. It's been many more years than yours since studying music theory, so I forget the terminology. Your explanations are wonderful. HF is the total package: 2 basses, 3 baritones, 5 tenors, 1 master percussionist, 4 backup percussionists -- as a group, greater than the sum of its parts. I really love the close-ups on each "instrument" in the happy song "Can't Stop the Feeling." And it makes me want to dance, too!

My father, who had a beautiful voice, often sang this at home (in Dutch). Home Free sings this so beautifully in a great scenery that I let my mother (85) hear and show it a year ago. Now she wants to listen to it regularly and has suggested it to her church community to show it there. How Home Free sings it, you don't just hear it, you also feel it. And it's great that Adam Rupp also sings here. Some suggestions: "End Of The Road" "Go Rest High On That Mountain" "Take Me Home, Country Roads" ""Mayday" "Castle On The Hill" The Trilogy: "Give Me A Sign"/"Stargazer Lillies/MR I will see them in Utrecht on September 27, which I am so looking forward to.
