@@JimmyGallowayGuitar If you’re able to give advice about what a good setup is, I would appreciate it. I’m getting Labella flats for it. I’m not a guitar player. I hit hard, but I’m willing to be soft to compensate for the tension due to scale length.
@JimmyGallowayGuitar

@johnmclaughlin2392 I play pretty light. These are roundwounds. The flats will give you more tension. You may need to shim the neck, raise the bridge to give you the right angle. Watch some Puisheen vids. He is great at offset setups.

Very nice demo thru some incredible playing! I thought I was done with buying guitars, but now the Bass VI goes on my list to get. Is the trem any good? I've heard some complaints that it doesn't stay in tune when used.
@JimmyGallowayGuitar

The tremolo is good. Just like with any guitar, the proper set up and nut work helps that. Most issues are user error. Get one, you'll love it
@TechnoRiff

@@JimmyGallowayGuitar Thanks for your thoughts. I've heard of some folks replacing the bridge with a Mastery or StayTrem. Replacing the spring, and bridge with a roller type are other ideas they had. Of course, I'd first try to adjust the original equipment if possible. Have you tried different string gauges, or had good results with the original set? Thanks!

I have the Fender 24-100 on it and I'm happy. The way I play I didn't feel any mods were necessary: I shimmed the neck very slightly because I tend to use the entire neck of the instrument. The Tremolo and Bridge for me have no issues with playability or intonation. Maybe I got a good one, or maybe there's an epidemic of people that would rather mod their guitars endlessly .....
@TechnoRiff

@@JimmyGallowayGuitarGreat to know as I think that you've demonstrated the vast range of possibilities of this unique instrument, and it speaks volumes that the stock hardware is good enough for you. For myself, I'll mod only as needed (e.g. Strat screw-in arm broke off leaving a chuck still threaded). I have noticed some of the Fender type guitars do benefit from some shimming; easier and less destructive than fretwork if that addresses any buzzing issues.

I gotta get me one of these. I don't have an electric anymore since I sold everything when I got cancer. But man, this sounds so good maybe I save up to get this instead of a normal guitar. Hmmm? Would this work as my only guitar? Good chance it might. Thanks for the inspiration! Well done. Great playing. How would this sit in a mix with a bass and a guitar? in the middle or would it occupy the same space as a bass in frequency?
@JimmyGallowayGuitar
8 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! To answer your question about frequency, it would depend on a few variables. What would you play through? If it was a bass amp, you would clash with bass depending on your voicings. There is the strangle switch though to cut. It's kind of like the piano/ bass arrangement.... you don't want your bass playing and the left hand of piano to step on each other. The BASS VI is incredibly versatile. I play solo gigs with it, using delay and reverb and looper. It's not widely known about so you get a lot of head scratching at gigs. You can find them for under $500 used. Go for it

Very cool! What amps can handle this though? A modeler and frfr could do it, but if I tried it with my Vox type amp it would fart right out, and might just die.
@JimmyGallowayGuitar

At lower volumes, a 2x12 combo or 4x10 should handle it. It would shelf frequencies the speakers couldn't handle. That being said, I use Helix and Powercab. If I'm playing with a group I'll use a patch with a crossover- everything below 250 goes to a powered Speaker straight to FOH, while 'guitar' goes to the guitar rig.

What an awesome instrument. I want one so bad, I’m a bass player who learned guitar and eventually realised that using chord tones in guitar solos was just the meat and veg of bass playing looked at from a different perspective and the light went on for me and suddenly I got it and anything with strings was just a matter of tunings and I was away and flying around in no time on anything. This thing would bring together my 8guitars and 6 Basses , like a missing link 😂

@@JimmyGallowayGuitar I’m sure I will, it’s fired my interest more than anything else in months, it’s like the penny has dropped and I get the connection between the guitar and the bass whereas before I always saw them as completely different instruments but this is like the missing link in them and I gotta get me one. Yr playing is really good by the way, hat off to you for your dynamics and phrasing, not to mention attention to tone 🇮🇲🔥👍👍

Gosh darn best way to highlight this guitar. I recently played a PRS Baritone, with the 27.7" scale B-B. I'm wondering if you've been able to try thinner strings then going up to B standard, and if so what were your impressions?

I have heard of people doing baritone on these, but I have no experience. It should work in theory but be mindful of the string having enough length for 30" scale on baritone set
