Best part about all this? These songs are diagetic, they exist in the world of the game. Build that Wall is an Ura war dirge, they sing it whilst marching to war. Mother, I'm Here is a hymn to the god of death, and The Pantheon is a Caeldonian war song. Its genuinely incredible the depth these songs have when you know the context

Lyrics Part 1 - Build That Wall I dig my hole, you build a wall I dig my hole, you build a wall One day that wall is gonna fall Gon' build that city on a hill Gon' build that city on a hill Someday those tears are gonna spill So build that wall and build it strong 'Cause we'll be there before too long Gon' build that wall up to the sky Gon' build that wall up to the sky Someday your bird is gonna fly Gon' build that wall until it's done Gon' build that wall until it's done But now you've got nowhere to run So build that wall and build it strong 'Cause we'll be there before too long Part 2 - Mother, I'm Here I set my sail Fly the wind, it will take me Back to my home, sweet home Lie on my back Clouds are making way for me I'm coming home, sweet home I see your star You left it burning for me Mother, I'm here Eyes open wide Feel your heart and it's glowing I'm welcome home, sweet home I take your hand Now you'll never be lonely Not when I'm home, sweet home I see your star You left it burning for me Mother, I'm here Part 3 - Setting Sail, Coming Home I set my sail Fly, the wind will take me Back to my home, sweet home Lie on my back Clouds are making way for me I coming home, sweet home I see your star, you left it burning for me. (Build that wall and build it strong cause) Mother, I'm here (We'll be there before too long) Eyes open wide (I dig my hole you build a wall) Feel your heart it's glowing (I dig my hole you build a wall) I welcome home, sweet home (One day that wall is gonna fall) I take your hand (Gon' build that wall up to the sky) Now you never be lonely (Gon' build that wall up to the sky) Not in the home, sweet home (One day your bird is gonna fly) I see your star, you left it burning for me, (Build that wall and build it strong cause) Mother, I'm here (We'll be there before too long)

I never played the game, but I like the music What I understand, the first part Build that wall. tell the history of a woman that is dying (or fear death) and she is building a house (the Wall can be understand as house) "I dig my hole, you build the wall" the woman is a mother and she want a house to protect her child "One day your bird gonna fly." The Second part of the song "Mother I am here" tell the history of a man that go to adventure and it's visiting his house where is his mother . The star can be the love and with the adventure he realised that (if was not because of his mother's love, he will never go to the adventure). The final part can be understand as mother and son reunites.
@lapsuseques3010
Жыл бұрын
But if she is really dying the story can be the son find the cure for his mother and now both are in adventure. Or she died "You let your star burning for me" and the reunion can be the afterlife.

An interesting interpretation. The truth of the matter is there was a discrimination of people which led one side to cause a calamity, wiping most life away and making the land fragment. The two singing are not on the same side. I wont go too far into specifics as I'm curious to know your reinterpretation given a bit of the full story.
@mustaqimhassan7824
Жыл бұрын
The interpretation for the 2nd song is that the "Mother" referred to is actually Death. In the game, Micia, the Goddess of Loss and Longing (effectively Death) is also referred to as Mother by various characters of the game. The character whose the song is the theme for can die at the end depending on the player's choices.
@nixtypikal
Жыл бұрын
Nice interpretation! Build That Wall is a war propaganda song from the Ura people who live in burrows underground. They fight against the city of Caelondia which has a constantly expanding wall. The song is about how the Ura believe they will be the victors of the war in the end Mother, I'm Here is a song about accepting death. In the game there is a greek-like pantheon of gods and one of them, Micia, is essentially the goddess of life and death. She is the proverbial mother of everyone and she is often referred to as such, hence the depiction of her as the "mother" in the song who you return to when you die (Also the star is a symbol for Micia) Setting Sail, Coming Home is the end credits song which in general is meant to represent the relationship between Caelondia and the Ura as Build That Wall is an Ura song whereas Mother, I'm Here is more of a Caelondia song. The two endings (in which it plays for both) depend on whether you want to erase the damage done by a petty war or move past it to start a new beginning
