This video is so important and full of value!!! As a nurse who works with pregnant and postpartum women, I think we don't talk about these things enough. Then when a woman experiences these feelings after giving birth, she is sure that something is wrong with her and this only increases her anxiety and mental stress. Thank you for being open to talking about the issue

I LOVED this video. I’m not a mum but i have a lot of close friends who are and I feel like you summed up all the feelings as a new mum. So honest and so refreshing to hear that. Women are so strong and we need to have more open and honest conversations with eachother and support. LOVE LOVE LOVE xxx

1000%!! I'm 29 weeks pregnant with my second and I'm so scared of that post partum anxiety and depression again. Also, glad to hear someone else felt those nighttime scaries like I did. Something about nighttime and knowing it's going to be yet another sleepless night just fills you with anxiety and despair.

As a resident in psychiatry I adoooooore your video, everyone who wants or doesn’t want or have a kid should watch something as real and vulnerable as this to make a real and conscious decision and not judge others

Well, I agree on those stitches -- really outrageous, had those too. The biggest thing was that suddenly, you have other people to stress over, not just yourself. It is a joy but it is also a huge sense of responsibility and it is going to be for the rest of your life! And that's heavy.

Thank you for raising awareness to these very important issues that women deal with before, during and after pregnancy. This needs to be addressed and talked about more. We need to normalize the changes women experience throughout motherhood. I appreciate you starting the conversation and I hope this gets a lot of views, this is crucial for first time moms and dads. Men must be aware of these changes and feelings too!❤❤

You’re so beautiful, Emily! I love to watch your tutorials on makeup and hairstyling since I’m such a girly girl. ☺️❤️ I also love how honest you are about your experience with childbirth. I’m 52 now, never been married and I’m childless but I live vicariously through my two nephews (also my godsons) who are now 16 and 19 and I love and treat them like they’re my own children.

Thank you for sharing this Emily! I can relate to this so much! The pregnancy and birthing experience was super great for me. The worst worst part was postpartum, I had many issues physically and mentally that I have never experienced before in my life. And I don’t like nursing as well! It contributed to a lot of my anxiety back then.

Emily, once again, my hat goes off to you for sharing this extremely important information and experience. So painful and hard! I think if I had had a baby in my 30s, I wouldn’t have known what hit me. People didn’t used to talk about this kind of information widely. But it’s really valuable that you are sharing these challenging parts to an amazing thing. Three years in & my relationship with my husband is still not what it was - we coexist a lot more than before - tag timing with the baby. But I know that that will change.

Yes!!! The intrusive thoughts can be scary! Thank you for saying it! Ppl do not talk about it! It will get better! The nipple bleeding is when we nurse too often, even if we air them and castor oil is soothing in between! I was nursing too often and they looked like ground hamburger 😬But back to normal! Hormones and imbalances ain’t no joke! I relate! Thanks for your honesty! Especially the thoughts when it was just the two of you… that changes too🙌

This is so honest and so true! I am a new mom of a 9 months old and can relate with every single thing you just said. I also feel like i will never be mentally free of preocupation again But mother nature made it like this for a reason, our kids need us. And i also have the sadness while breasfeeding, but thankfully only lasts during the first minute or so, and let me enjoy breastfeeding. Love you channel!

YESSSSS!! 🙌 I went through all of the same things. I was shocked at how hard it was on our marriage because we both wanted a baby so much. And I had crazy anxiety with my first-- thoughts of falling down the stairs and random accidents, all of it. It sucks. But yes, it is kind of normal. 🤷🏼♀️ Didn't go through that with baby #2, but OMG the postpartum cramps were a shock after giving birth to the 2nd! I totally agree with you, Emily. And yes, 100%, being a mom is the best thing in the world. Love my kids! They're worth it all! ❤️

❤❤❤sending you all the luck and love! My own advice is not to fear or be ashamed of your feelings (eg not enjoying the newborn stage, not “loving” the baby from the first sight, feeling anxious about not knowing “how to”). And not being ashamed to ask for HELP! No one is supposed to raise a baby alone!!! Take all the help you can. And trust me, it WILL get better!!! 🩷

I remember it so well when I had my son over 18 years ago. I was shocked and angry that no one told me everything you just mentioned and more. I felt it was a huge disservice to new mothers not to prepare them or educate them about what they would be facing. I honestly felt like I’d been duped. The physical pain of childbirth was nothing compared to the months and even years of strife that came afterwards.

I know a lady who gave birth in a taxi and hers easily slid out, and have seen some ppl’s stories online who had either cryptic pregnancies and normal early-sign pregnancies, and their infant just came out, so not everyone’s experience is painful.
