It's worse. Some people who go insane fully believe they are sane and there is nothing wrong. But for some with high intelligence, they are fully aware they aren't sane. You'd think the difference would make them easier to treat but it's actually much more difficult to treat those who are capable of understanding they aren't right in the head because they see no solution. One side sees no problem the other no solution. It's much easier in my experience to get them to admit there is a problem so they can then work on it, than to get them to admit there is a solution. It's tragic when I experience the latter cases, as you watch the intelligence burning out inside as their mind slowly drags them into a hell they feel cant be controlled.

I can relate to this to an extent and I agree. For me, what helped is realizing I wasnt alone. I was losing my mind and in turn myself, going down a path I felt I was forced to of destruction, both towards myself and others. I felt hopeless and that no one would ever be able to understand a guy like me. And a guy like me didnt have anyone because he deserved no one. My life intersected with someone who later on became my best friend. I would lash out and be very angry towards them..but they stayed. Through all my mean actions and words. Then one day, they mailed me a gift and my then-insanity broke and the compassion I was scared to show out of fear of being hurt began to leak through the cracks and I couldnt hide from it or myself anymore. My whole personality flipped on its head. And while it didnt completely make me sane or "fix" me, it changed me in a massive way for the rest of my life. Till this day, we are still very close. And I've known them for at least 10 years now. I'm very thankful for all they've done and always will be. Without them, I probably wouldn't even still be around today. @tacocat318

But the thing is most versions of Joker including this one aren't "insane" by any medical definition, being insane is loosing a grip on reality, not knowing what are you doing and why, just a jumbled mess of some traumatic hints but nothing more, Joker is fully aware of what he is doing, what is someone saying to him, he's fully comprehensive and aware of everything and his mind does work logicaly, he isn't insane by medical definition, he's sociopathic narcissist with extremely violent tendentions but not insane, actually insane Joker would be from The Batman 2004

joker's ultimate greatest killing joke
@parableSparrow

His killing joke points out the Hypocrisy of Batman's offer, how can two insane asylum help each other when they cannot help themselves? The joke where one goes "I will flash my flashlight across the gap so you can cross and the others response "are you crazy you'd just move the light away before I could reach the other side" the 2 are too crazy to notice how out of touch with reality they are. Batman thinks he can help, the joke is, he needs help but can't see it he thinks dressing like a bat and beating people will help someone change, while the joker is trying to get him to jump across the gap with him into madness of a more honest sort. Neither will budge and so the impasse is one will be killed at some point. I think Batman laughed because the joker told him "He is just as crazy as he is" in the most clever of ways and he realized it.

“There are 2 inmates escaping from Arkham asylum from the roof when they come across a large gap. The first one jumps across no problem and beckons the second to jump as well but he’s scared. So the first inmate takes his flashlight and points it so the light goes across the gap and says ‘Here walk across the light like a bridge and you’ll cross no problem” the second inmate looks at him and exclaims ‘What are you nuts??! I know you’ll just turn the light off when I’m half way across!’”

I love this planet, i love being on earth and living my life through western culture, I love corvettes and tex mex food but holy shit - the media we grew up alongside is second to none and no generatiom before or after will have what we had. The Great Conroy and Skywalker himself are an incredible dou, and they deserve the praise they get in every comment section. We all miss kevin and we all know Mark will never be the joker again, the era is over and now we can appreciate their works in a new light. I thank them both

No… I’m sorry but according to him it’s far too late for that, for what it’s worth he genuinely does regret his actions and in his sane moments he does feel guilt… he just knows internally that it’s far too late for forgiveness… the scene feels like that of a monster temporarily gaining control over its instincts and realizing what it’s done and knowing that it’s too late to change what’s happened but wishing things could’ve been different… Batman was willing to offer a last hope for redemption, but joker knew that taking that offer would be exploiting his kindness, joker doesn’t see himself being able to be redeemed and he knows that the things he’s done are truly unforgivable so he knows the end result and he’s accepted it…
