thanks for opening that.. i had not gone deep in one of those before.. i do know that one can get out of emergency situations by disconnecting the battery and flipping the switch like 100 times.. this moves the contacts against each other without any electrons causing additional arcing.. can make them work again till you can get a replacement. one can also remove one nut holding the cable down.. move the cable to the other stud and put the nut on top of the second cable.. depending on the length of the stud exposed.. i do that on amp meters on dodges that blow out. things must be crazy expensive up there.. cole hersee battery disconnect switches are usually around 40 bucks US.. there are also brass shelled versions. and fully epoxy coated versions..

Things are at least 30% more expensive here. Look at the huge differences in the amazon.com site vs the amazon.ca site for example. Just spent a month in Tasmania. Things are at least 20% more expensive there than Canada. USA has the lowest costs and best selection of any western country - except your healthcare costs.
