Thank you so much for posting this! I'm a single lady with not a lot of car know-how, and I didn't want to ruin my car battery by doing something wrong. Your video gave all the steps so clearly and gave me confidence to know how to use this!

Hmmmm. As with my full size battery charger (or any battery charger) I would hook up the wiring first and plug the battery charger into the wall socket or extension cord last. No point in walking around with an energized power lead. Also you typically connect the negative lead of a charger to ground on the chassis vice connecting it directly to the negative pole of the battery. I suppose that's not such a big deal as this charger outputs such a low amperage.

Great video ... My vehicle is being stored outside, under a cover, with a 3 outlet outdoor heavy duty cord, which the block heater is also plugged into. In your video the car is inside a garage; how would you connect the actual charger outside? Could the charger sit under the hood somewhere? Or would it need to be plugged in inside the vehicle with another outdoor extension cord running to the 3 external outlets? Would appreciate your help. Thanks

It looks like the instruction manual recommends connecting the red to the red terminal, and the black to a grounding metal, not to the terminal?
@Mr.M1STER
4 жыл бұрын
Generally the negative battery terminal is connected directly to the chassis of the car or whatever it is the battery in. Follow the negative battery lead and see where it goes next time you look at your battery.

I'm assuming that since the unit won't create a spark, you were ok connecting the negative clamp to the battery versus grounding it to the car. Correct me if I'm wrong with my assumption.

Since this Battery Tender does no desulfation, it's not good as this is the cause of battery failures but the light shows good. Need a BatteryMINDer with does perform desulfation which bring these batteries back.

Mine is doing this shit too. Brand new battery, and same tender in video. Filled battery with acid and let it sit for the 1hr the directions said. Plugged tender to battery and then to the outlet in garage. Got the red-green for about 30 sec and then goes to red signifying it's charging. It's not went flashing green yet(80%+ charged) yet and definitely not solid green. Battery is reading 12.8 (without tender connected) on voltage tester. I'll be damned, it's flashing green now lol. Hope this helps ya out man. Will edit when it goes solid. I was worried for a minute there lol

Is there a similar device that will keep a battery charged w/o having to plug the device into a wall outlet? I don't have a garage & don't think my landlord will allow me to keep the battery charged inside my house; she will view it as a fire hazard.

Next time, use a personal mic. Room reverb messes up voices. Mic on camera in a hard walled space makes the video suck. Now you know.
