These videos are extremely helpful since alot of really good chips are forgotten because the initial first use is poorly explained in game. At least for me.

You’re not the only one. Varisword for example didn’t explain anything except push buttons but you figure out which ones and the moment for it.

Worth mentioning is that BigWave cracks Holy Panels before doing damage. It also hits Momogra while they're underground.

Correction on the program advance: It actually Bets Wave actually gives you 6 uses of a random one of the 3, not only Shockwave, but it's RNG based. You can also use Sigma Wave instead by using 5 battle chips still in ascending order. But all this changes is that you get 9 uses instead of 6. Even with the chance to get one of the better chips than the basic one this is still awful because the basic is worthless. Not only is the basic one weaker but it has way worse frame data. It takes longer for megaman to swing the pickaxe and longer for the Wave to travel to the end which is bad because of another weakness of these chips: they lock your ability to use other battle chips while the Wave is traveling across the ground. Which isn't unique to this chip but is very obnoxious because the design of the chip is that it forces your opponent to move out of a row but what's the point if you can't follow up on the forced movement with something else?

Agreed on 4 and 5, but BN6 has WaveArm, which is basically just this chip series but even better since it tracks enemies. Give it a try if you never have.

The biggest thing that hurts these chips (mainly BigWave in 3) is the awful end lag. Not just the animation, you get this awful chip delay lag that has to last between 30-60 frames that stops you from using any chip, even when you move. Really hurts BigWave in particular.

Quick revision, Betas Wave in BN1 is not a Zeta PA, it doesn't give you unlimited shock waves, nor invincibility. What it actually does is give you 2 shockwaves, 2 sonicwaves, and 2 dynawaves, in that order. In addition, there's an advanced version of that PA that requires 1/2/3 Shockwave C, 1/2/3 Sonicwave, and 1/2/3 Dynawave, in the correct order, which gives you 3 Shock waves, 3 sonicwaves, and 3 dynawaves.

Dynawave was so busted in BN1 with the low health pool of bosses.

Could you do one of these on the Meteor chips please? Not just the "Meteors" Meteor but the other Meteors like ShotMeteor, HoleMeteor or the Meteor(Number) series. I can understand the Meteors megachip, but the other Meteor chips always confused me to no end as to how exactly they function. Thanks!

I can quickly explain. The MeteorNumber series, and RandomMeteor from 3, essentially bombard the opponent's field with meteors randomly. I believe there's some priority given to targeting enemies but it could be game specific. HoleMeteor (WholeMeteor) is just a watered down Meteors mega chip. No time freeze, fires less meteors, but does more damage I guess? ShotMeteor is the only one even remotely confusing. It... Barely works. As far as I can tell it fires meteors depending on MegaMan's position in the field. I sadly have no clue how it works in depth, sorry.

For some reason, when you mentioned about the PA, i remembered about Elmer Fudd from Looney Tunes, can't put my finger on it, though. Well, i guess i better BEHAVE myself. Sorry for the sidetracking! Btw, your MMBN Academy videos are awesome, man!

Kinda cool to see an early game chip bring reviewed, even if it isn't competitively viable. Would you consider doing the whirlpool chips later on?

Unless BN Collection changed the way the PA works, this is incorrect. I've used them in BN Collection a fair bit and have just confirmed it to be sure, but this is how they actually work. B-Wave gives you 2 uses of ShokWave, then 2 uses of SoniWave, and then 2 uses of DynaWave, in that order. Not unlimited uses of ShokWave. There's also an upgraded version called S-Wave activated by slotting in 5 of the series in order (the repeats can be any chip so long as all 3 are present, EG you can do ShokWave, ShokWave, SoniWave, SoniWave, DynaWave to trigger it) which gives you 3 uses of ShokWave, then 3 uses of SoniWave, then 3 uses of DynaWave in that order. I'm actually a big fan of this chip series in BN1 especially. They're a big upgrade in the early game compared to cannons and mini-bombs, and even remain useful later in the game due to their lingering hotboxes and ability to pierce and damage multiple enemies.

this is one of those chips that are either early game, or part of some gimmick that makes sense thematically but not from an actual competitive point

Wonder why they nerfed it in 2. They restored it’s damage in 3 so I don’t really get the nerf in 2.
