after listening to this 100+ times i just realized the man in the background is reciting (a slightly edited version of) the tell-tale heart by edgar allen poe. hands down my favorite song, ever

Every time I think of pushing you down the stairs I lick my lips But don't be upset, its the only way I know how To show you that I really care I lie to you every chance I get And I make it just close enough to the truth That you go for it every time But dont misunderstand I leave fingerprints outside your window In the shapes of positive messages Ive got a present for you Its made from pieces of my skin Trailing slices of pale light Thread and needle closing in

"every time I think of pushing you down the stairs, I lick my lips" interesting how an unnamed member of the band "fell" down the stairs just before the albums final song was recorded

I dig this, the overall feel is sort of like adding together every pshyco ex-girlfriend that has ever been and rolling them into one and letting them sing about all the psycho ex-girlfriend stuff that goes through their head. The music, lyirics and mood all compliment each other.

This is just my opinion...but I honestly cant get into the vocals(at the beginning). i mean the build-up to the song is impressive and the overall product i love, but her spoken-word vocals dont seem to be necessary. anyway, this is my opinion( i have to say this more than once because there are people on here who will slate me constantly for saying something negative), and i love the band in general:)
