I have realized I don't like flat hands on watches. The angled and multi finished Seiko hands catch light so much better and make the watch look way better in my opinion.

Nice compare. Thanks. I've opted against the seiko sadly bc I couldn't live with a crooked chapter or bezel. I am on the fence with a doxa or the ocean crawler great lakes. The v2 has a nice sunburst teal and I just love the brand

I looked at both these watches and ended up with the doxa, the seiko wore a bit big, just felt tall on the wrist and i didn't like the slow beat rate movement. The doxa case shape and smoother sweep movement were better, the watch is also very comfortable on the wrist

First of all thanks for the upload! I own a Doxa Sub 300t and a Sub 200, and the accuracy is significantly better in the Sub 300t, very strange considering that they both have the exact same movement. I'm generally getting +6 seconds per day from the 300t and about +15 seconds from the 200. I'm guessing that the factory regulates the Sub 300t movements to a higher level than the Sub 200s. Only logical explanation. The lume is bloody terrible on both!

The point of seiko was to provide Swiss like quality for a fraction of the price. I don't see that happening today. Seiko is expensive and for Seiko money one can get Swiss like doxa. So hands down I would take the doxa.

Wearability of a Watch is a critical element that transcends all other features of the watch. SEIKO'S Sculptured case design renders to it comfort, wrist presence and longterm enjoyability. No other watch maker can design a watch case so ergonomically as to conform and contour to the wrist like SEIKO. For example, the gigantic SEIKO SUMO wears deceptively small than its stated dimensions. DOXA 200 and 300 are wieldy and floppy on the wrist and after a while wrist fatigue and discomfort can render the watch unwearable. The SAMURAI, for example is a 44mm watch but it's shaped and sculptured in such a way to fit comfortably on the wrist. Some about SEIKO that even ORIENT can't touch. All the complaints about misalignment chapter rings that, to me, is a minor drawback that can be easily fixed.

Hands down I pick the Doxa. It's a beautiful retro diver reissue. I already have the seiko, which I built myself from oem parts and it looks identical to the one reviewed here and It cost me 1/3 the price of the "real" seiko and everything aligns and works well. Any seiko model can be self built as oem parts are available and much cheaper than the store sold seiko watches. So yeah, Doxa 200 it is as I could not find the right case and dial for it. I would not want to own a watch where a copy could be made for the fraction of the price. For the very same reason I do not own a real rolex, because the vintage submariner I built looks and performs like the real thing.

good comparison! it really seems that in sub 200 case getting a well regulated Doxa depends on pure luck. mine is much more accurate, playing in cosc standards. if you have to choose between two, which one you´d let go? as much as i love Seiko products, my choice would be this time Doxa - love it more and more.

I would choose Seiko. I like the Doxa case, it really seems to be well finished, it has such a Spedmaster vibe, plus Eta 2824, which I consider a very successful mechanism. But, the dial and the hands look very cheap, plus the world is weak. Seiko, on the other hand, seems successful in all respects, and my experience with the 6Rxx series of mechanisms is quite good, although I prefer the Eta 2824. Personally, I would choose the SPB147 model.

@tommy sands. I am a big fan of of both brands. Frankly, I prefer Doxa. However, do keep in mind that evern though both are tool watches, Doxa leans more in that direction. I guess the choice would not only be subjective, it also depends on your intended use.
