I have a 96-97 CR500. The frame and or swing arm was bent on the original 96 so I found a mint 97 frame and a 2001 swing arm for her. Extremely rare Noleen pipe, shortened FMF silencer- barely pokes out past the number plate, ported, head shaved. Shes a beast and I love her! Long live the CR500!

Great video. I never competed in any hillclimbs. I did go to watch a few of them. For anyone who has never been to one and just see video, and think 'aww this is easy', think again. Whether is a TV event or KZitem video, you don't get a real feel to just how steep these hillclimb hills really are. Way steeper than any MX track hill I raced on in over 1000 moto's all over the US.

@@GatesRapes WOW looked like a CR500 engine to me. first guy. They were fast. Rode lots of bikes in my time. The fastest bike I ever rode was a Suzuki Gs1150. On the street. pulled 1st second 3rd power wheelie sitting over the bars. finally came down in 3rd. IDK how fast I was going must have been over 100. slowed down then turned around. came back to my buddy and said. Well that will be the last time I ride this one. It is just too fun I will kill myself. He said I didnt think you were going to open it up. I said if I ride it and dont open it up then whats the point.

Thanks for the awesome video, Brother. Laughing at that guy with the pink tutu. I was pulling for Mike Nardone on that beautiful red and white YZ 490. He was so damn close to the top. For his age of 67, he can still definitely more than hold his own! That girl on the KX 85, with the regular swingarm wheelbase did damn good for her age, even though she didn't make it to the top. I would love to try this hill on a 2 stroke dirtbike! Nicole O'Donnell did Awesome. That girl is bad to the bone, and can outride many of the men. I know her Father is Proud! I hope the girl on the KX 450 did well, and made it over the top!

Fuck yeah the Honda CR 480/500's were some of the biggest horsepower years, along with some losers, like the 4 speed 450, the four speed 480, the ping king, etc. But by '87 they had it all together, "88 with the USD forks, is was back to the drawing board.
