Regarding that Real Life Question: in my middle school social studies class, one of our big projects was preparing for and participating in a group debate. My group got the topic "should you have to be natural-born to become president?", which led to a *ton* of research into the immigration process. To this day *mumbles* years later, I may not remember all the details, but I do remember the takeaway: it's *fucking hard* to become a US citizen if you're not one already. It can cost so much time, effort, education, and *money* that anyone who is willing and able to go through all that just to become a US citizen is *far more likely* to be loyal to the country's citizens than someone who was just born into it. After like a month or two of prep, we get to the debate, and our opponents' entire argument was, "but what if they want to destroy the US from the inside?" phrased multiple different ways, to which we just kept responding, "...that's more likely to happen with a natural-born citizen, but in the case, don't vote for them?" So much research for what amounted to a preamble as there was no actual debate from the other side. And that continues to this day whenever conservatives negatively stereotype "illegal immigrants" with no understanding of what it costs to become "legal" immigrants, or how often people try to come to the US precisely *because* they could never afford that cost in their home country.

Just for the sake of noting this, jing is an actual idea in some chinese martial arts, but positive, negative and neutral aren't types of jing, they're types of "power"(more power changes to the fight really, difficult to explain as an idea). There's a bunch of them, but they broadly fall into 5 "powers"; positive(things that add energy to the fight like throwing a punch, charging, leaning into attacks, etc), negative(things that take energy from a fight, dodging, running, etc), neutral(anything that doesn't change the power like waiting, keeping distance, or changing stance), redirection(anything that converts power such as turning a punch into a throw, fake outs, etc), cancellation(anything that nulifies energy such as blocking, rolling with hits, grapples, etc). Pretty sure there's a lot more than 85 jing though since there's near infinite moves that could be described.

I know they described Tarzan of the books as well read and fluent in multiple languages. But in my head the image of a very serious courtroom drama but with Tarzan in a a loin cloth with a leopard skin tie and barristers wig makes me laugh. ME OBJECT! Him lead witness!

Um, actually, Clone High does address Marie Curie's damaged DNA in the episode in which Ghandi is diagnosed with ADD. Fred Astaire mentions it shortly before Ghandi goes on a dance rampage and knocks over a pillar onto him.

um actually, I'm pretty sure tarzan cannot speak most of the languages (the human languages at least) and can only read them, since he learnt them all from books left in his parents' cabin before they died. but the question stated that he was "fluent", so I'm not sure if just reading is enough to be considered fluent. but also it's been a long long time since I read the book so I could be wrong
