battle pro pool player VS Pro Snooker Player, Efren Reyes VS Jimmy White In 1999 WPA Champions
As one of the greatest pro pool players, Efren “Bata” Reyes has had many matches not only against other great pro pool players, but also with great pro snooker players. One of his greatest matches against pro snooker players is his match against Jimmy “the Whirlwind” White from England in second round the 1999 World Professional Pool Championship. Interestingly, it has to be the hardest match he had during the tournament because it was the only match won by him with a deciding rack. White himself is a great snooker player who has won 10 ranking tournaments and 24 non-ranking tournaments. So, here is the match between Efren Reyes and Jimmy White in the 1999 World Professional Pool Championship.
Number 8.
Rack 1. Efren Reyes won the lag and thus making the first break shot in the match. Unfortunately, he couldn’t pocket any balls with his break shot and had to leave the next shot to Jimmy White. White then pocketed the 1-ball but failed to pocket the 2-ball and left it very near to a corner pocket. Reyes then took his chance to shoot and managed to pocket the 2-ball. Unfortunately, he also scratched during the process, giving a free ball to White in his next turn. White then used the chance to pocket the 6 remaining balls one by one, ultimately winning the first rack.
Number 7.
Rack 2. Jimmy White took a break shot in the second rack but unfortunately, he couldn’t pocket any balls with it and worse, he scratched. So, Efren Reyes had a ball in hand in his turn to shoot and he eventually won the second rack after he pocketed the 9-ball with a 3-9 combination shot in his third shot. The score then became even with 1-1.
Number 6.
Rack 12. Now we skip to the twelfth rack because rack 3 through 11 was quite intense and both players took turns in winning one match after another. The score in the twelfth rack was 6-5 with Efren Reyes leading the match. Reyes was also the one who took the break shot in the twelfth rack. His break shot was fine because he could pocket a ball with it. Unfortunately, he missed the shot after that, allowing Jimmy White to take the next shot. Amazingly, White took the opportunity to immediately win the twelfth rack by pocketing the 9-ball with a 1-9 combination shot. With that, the score became even again with 6-6.
Number 5.
Rack 13. Jimmy White took another break shot in the thirteenth rack. Unfortunately, his break shot wasn’t very good and couldn’t pocket any balls at all. Worse, it made the 5-ball, 7-ball, and 8-ball close to each other near a corner pocket. Efren Reyes then took 3 shots and succeeded in pocketing the 1-ball, 2-ball, and 3-ball. Unfortunately, he missed when trying to pocket the 4-ball, leaving an easy shot for White to pocket the 4-ball. White then succeeded in pocketing the 4-ball but he made a foul when he tried to hit the 5-ball with a 3-bank shot because the cue ball hit the 7-ball first before it hit the 5-ball. With that, Reyes had a free ball and he put the cue ball in the most strategic location on the table. Then, Reyes succeeded in pocketing the 5 remaining balls one by one until he won the 13th rack.
