I just put the finishing touches on my original Cylon Attack game! I loved the original Battlestar Galactica TV series in the late 1970's. Tektronix furnished the computers used on the Galactica bridge - and designed the vector graphics images - which I used to develop my Cylon Attack game.
I wrote this game in Tektronix 4050 BASIC. The Cylon and HIT/MISS scores are displayed by an optional graphics coprocessor - an early GPU! My Cylon Attack game program is only 8000 bytes but it does use a second file with 9000 bytes of vector and sound data.
The game program initialized the graphics coprocessor with the Cylon and score numbers as movable 'sprites'. The program moves the Cylon and reads my Vectrex joystick analog X and Y position and four buttons. I added a joystick interface to my Tektronix 4050 Flash Drive - which completely replaces the internal tape and holds all the Tektronix 4050 programs I have recovered and the ones I have created and posted here: github.com/mmc...
