Yeah, this modern re-sculpt of the Locust is amazing. I find it kind of amusing that basically all of these new art redesigns of the original licensed mechs is so much better than the originals. :p

I think the green screen in on the AS card looked the coolest of the bunch, the one on the RS was just a hair too big, but still a really cool effect overall.

Thanks Paul. I'm playing around with a bunch of stuff. Most of the delays in the videos are split between [REDACTED] and scraping everything/trying new things.

Not to mention that Iron Wind Metals has made the exact model (in metal of course) that allows you to make it in one of three variants.

I got a metal one. I plan to magnetize it so I can switch it also got the catapult so I can do the same thing.

@@boneshaman8912 Good idea. I like how Iron Wind is making metal equivalents of the plastics from the base game.

I think IWM missed the opportunity for the griffin. They could have added extra parts for the N2 maybe some other variants. Could have done it with the Tbolt as we'll

Yes you most certainly would love Crusher Joe (a dubbed version is on KZitem). But don't expect much from the Ostall as all it is used for in its brief shot is as comic relief and it is an unmanned drone maybe about twice to three times the height of a person. Battletech "grew" the mech in size because those early TCI modules included a Nitto Ostall kit in 1/48 scale to go with a Nitto molded Dougram mech in 1/144. So the "Locust" grew in size to become what it was. I am currently building up a Takara 1/32 Ostall into a Locust and its final scale will be close to 1/72 when finished. In my case it won't be for gaming, just for display. But, it will be on a Gundam hex base in case I want to use it as cannon fodder in a game in the not too distant future. Keep up the good work!

A really fun mech in classic to yeet across the table and distract your opponent with. I also really enjoy stepping on them with assaults in HBS's Battletech. Also, slick editing dude.

Also thank you for the editing comment. The Edit is where I have the most fun with these videos and trying new things keeps it interesting. :)

Got to say, your paint job is looking fire 🔥. Have you ever thought about submitting some paint jobs to Camo specs online? I think your mechs would be a awesome ( not the mech 😉) addition to the sight.

Truth be told, I had considered it but I don't know if I am up to CamoSpecs standard.

I'm not a fan of a Locust or especially a Jenner with a hips and a torso twist. A major part of the original designs character was the legs attaching a the torso with the arms attached to the legs.

What's the best variant for 3039 play?

For Alpha Strike and CBT in my opinion (which can be wrong), I'd say the Locust 1Vb. The Royal Variant has the capacity to deal more damage for not a lot of pts difference.

With the stock 1V you'll only be firing one medium laser most of the time. Meaning the 1E is essentially doubling your firepower. The 1M is also interesting but only in specific scenarios. I'd pick the 1E over any of the other options in most scenarios.
