I got this drill on a blowout sale for half price at about $30, so picked it up as a backup. I've used it a few times so far, and it works fine for my needs, especially given the price. I've since gotten the light, a 3.0 ah battery, and the right angle drill because my Porter Cable battery 20v is lacking this tool. The quality is decent. Probably not great for a lot of pros, but for my moderate use it should do fine.

I don't think you are tightening the bits in the chuck "hard/tight" enough. Try putting on a glove while holding the chuck, then squeeze the trigger and let the drill clamp down on the bit. Now retry hammer mode in the concrete. Thank you for doing these tests by the way. I for one appreciate you and all the other reviewers out there helping me and people like me decide what to buy.

60 min charger is rather slow for a 1.5 Ah battery. This means this charger tops at 30W and would take hours to charge lets say a 4Ah battery. On the other hand my charger takes 60 min to charge a 4Ah battery. When I had low-ish 2Ah batteries it would charge them in 30 min. Long story short. Don't take charging times on the packaging too serious, specially when it comes with a small battery. It's all relative

Using a 2' bit to go through 4" of material is dumb and dangerous. Putting your hand on the material close to the bit to try to leverage out the 2' long bit while it is still spinning is a recipe for quick trip to the hospital. Use the appropriate bit for the job and stop the drill, reverse it, and back the bit out when you are done drilling. Your hammer mode test of the Bauer is suspect, at best. You used a bit for a different type of drill and didn't hold the workpiece. You spent all of the time chasing the concrete so you had no pressure in towards the concrete. You gave your Deeeeewalt a break in the department by bracing the block with your foot. Do an equal comparison with a proper bit.
