Thanks for your honest review of this sander. This helped me a lot. Like you, I have a very limited budget for tools as I'm retired and on SS.

Agreed 100% on the table squaring issue. My biggest gripe and honestly making me want to look at the ridgid

If the table won't adjust to 90 degree level to the sander, add washers to the top of the angle adjustment brackets attaching to the under side of the table to get it to get to be able to adjust to level.

Thanks for the review, did you bother to adjust the 90 degree angle or just leave it. This is one tool I really never thought id be using but Im starting to see its value specially trying to sand curved edges with my orbital sander, I can do it but takes forever and a day. Our area is like most by the sounds of it with Home Depot and Lowes having 35 different saws and routers but no specialty tools like band saw or spindle sanders.

Interesting that the smaller Baur/Wen design looks like it rotates in the opposite direction as the Rigid model. Gotta wonder what difference that makes in ergonomics.

Handy to remember that video shows things in a mirror. I’m not sure what direction they spin in relation to each other, but it may just be a visual trick of the camera.

You mentioned about the table not being square to the belt, is this NOT ABLE to be corrected or is it just a pain in the neck to do and has to be done every time you switch back and forth to the belt sander? Is it square for the drums?

No, it’s correctable. Just a pain in rear.

Can anyone comment on what is the actual tabletop footprint size (width and depth) of the bottom of this sander?

Dude are those ghost orbs or is that dust floating through the video @ approx 41 seconds?? Wanted to make sure your shop isn't haunted LOL. Thanks for the content!

I got one and had it about 4 mouths and I don’t use it daily and I turned it on one day and it run for a minute or two and it just quit I checked the plug and it was still plug in no matter what I did it would not run. I did get the extended warranty so I put it in the trash. Will not buy another bauer product again.

If the table isn't square to the spindle it isn't worth a dime to me.

looks like they ripped off the ridgid design - lousy dust collection = Major Negative issue

I’m reality, most of these are all made in the same factory and branded to suit each tool company.
