It is impossible to tell what the resale market will be two years out, right now as you know it is a sellers market, boats and houses are on in the market for a short time, but in 2 years I am guessing there are going to be loads of boats hitting the market from all the buyers now who will be getting back out of it. I sure wouldn't want to be in your boat shoes right now with trying to find a boat long distance, by the time you make a flight to look at one it could easily be under contract by the time you get there, short of buying sight unseen I see lots of fast plane trips east in your future. Stay positive but time is fast getting short. Love your videos keep them coming.

Thanks, as always, James! YES! Time is getting short. And it’s a terrible market to be a buyer but (so far) we’re sticking by our schedule. Life’s short, kids are young only so long. We may make some compromises and make some extra flights but we’re still trying to make it happen. Thanks for sticking with us!

Nice video Guys. So how ironic is this…….I own an 87 4450 (same boat) and literally for the first time (after fixing the tub drains) was taking the maiden voyage bubble bath with Yourube while sipping an IPA. HAHA. My girlfriend is at work and I just sent her the bubble bath (rated PG) pictures. Good luck on your search. I’ve known for years this was the boat for us. It’s my forth ocean boat and so very happy with it. The master stateroom bed is a little bit of a pain to make but not worth not getting the 4560-4588_4788. There is NOTHING like walking straight into the boat off a dock and NO stairs! Our old dog Maddox loves that. Also, and I’m sure you know, the draft is shallow so great choice for The Great Loop. Also…..the pilot house makes an amazing getaway room. Cheers and good luck. Tim and Jenn on Seahorse. Ventura CA.

This is so awesome! Thanks for the comment! Check out Technomadia. They are looping on a 4788 now!

Saw an ad for a 1992 Marine Trader 50' sedan trawler for $255K. Looked like it was in good shape. A big boat, lots of space. They made many of these -- I assume they come on the market regularly and older ones will be less expensive. Have you looked at these?

YES! We’ve looked at that boat! Beautiful! And a loop veteran. Thanks, John!

My Personal assistant did a partial loop on one of those in the 90’s. (West coast of FL to NY and back).

It seems like a popular, production, loop-ready boat.

I think I saw in some of your videos you may have mentioned what your drinking? As I am drinking my beer I am now really wondering what you are drinking, you should add the info to your intro 😁🍻 Not sure why I find it interesting to watch someone else search yachtworld since I am always searching as well but I do 😊

Thanks, Adrien! It totally depends on the night (and how much we’re on a diet) at the time. I’m a big IPA fan and my wife is a big bourbon fan. The shelf over her shoulder reflects our changing tastes in bourbons as we go. Sometimes neat, sometimes one rock, sometimes in a cocktail. Thanks for watching!

That's funny. I started the video over to check the glasses and did notice right away hers wasn't beer. I love Bourbon and IPA and my refrigerator and cabinet will prove it 🤣. I was drinking a suicide squeeze from fort George, I guess it's a new release and it was good.

Awesome! I think I had Ft. George Fanzine! Couple of cans of suicide squeeze in the fridge right now! Baerlic Punk Rock Time IPA in the glass right now. Delicious! Cheers!

You and The Boomershines are looking for essentially the same boat, although their budget (at least for dreaming) seems to be a bit more LOL. Looks like Yachtworld has a ton and a half of listings down in Florida. Even some (relatively) cheap ones that if they would pass a marine survey would _probably_ work for you. They have a 1989 SeaRay 440 Aft Cabin for well under $100k (get a DAMNED good survey on that one LOL) as well as a 49 foot 1990 Hyundai Elegant for the same price. Good luck with your quest!

Thanks! Yeah, survey is key! We really box ourselves in looking only in the north due to our looping schedule. We may overpay but I think the boats are in better shape from what we’ve seen from some of the Florida boats. Thanks for the comment!

Generally Great Lakes boats are 20% higher than FL boats due to the perception of never being in salt water. Also, if you buy a great lakes boat you need to make sure the bottom has copper epoxy bottom paint or you will not be able to get the barnacles off once you hit salt water.

Good tip on the bottom paint. Hadn’t heard the 20% rule but makes sense and is consistent with what we’ve seen. Thanks as usual, Christopher!

The 4588 has a plywood core hull the 4788 is foam. The 4788 is a better choice.

Excellent thing to point out, especially with a used boat! Just look at all the grief Colin on Parlay Revival has been going through with his Lagoon 450 for a great reason to _avoid_ plywood or balsa cored hulls. That's the biggest strike (for me anyway) against anything Beneteau or Jeanneau.

The hull is foam cored. The flybridge floor is balsa core.
