josh bolin Check out Justin Guitar too. I think he's equally as great as Marty (not to take anything from Marty, here I am watching his videos after all). Just another avenue of knowledge!

Justin is also great I have bought loads of his books they are very easy to use and learn from his you tube vidios are with every song in his books a Brill learning aid as well his site is justinguitar.com

Totally agree buddy, Justin is also a great tutor and there's nothing between them really. I admire both guys so much, they give their time for free and help us out no end! Happy strumming guys.

Marty gives so much for free here. I have also benefited from ordering and owning his blues and jazz DVDs and gone to levels I never ever though I'd ever reach. Not all that expensive and VERY valuable for my learning curve. Thanks Marty for all that you've done for me and guitar.

wowser Marty I,m 59 from UK have started about three years ago learning guitar at first have a friend that learns me what he likes Nirvana modal music at first that was great it was a great adventure with power chords as a good learning tool, then I started to look at different things in music, I love Jazz and the blues I found you some time ago but never used your lessons I now wished that I did that and it would have saved me some time in learning myself yep I am slow but getting there think its the age thing. I have to say I have looked all over the network I feel you have what I need you make me smile after every lesson that you do. Keep the fab work up a great admirer from UK Colin

I play this through a Fender G-DEC Blues Edition Amp and an Epiphone Valve Junior, with the slow blues track and it sounds amazing!

@vermin888 That's the rakes! You use the muted top strings of the string you want to pick, and you get that "crunch".

@jamie4x2 A while back marty posted a video with his pedal set up, and back then he was using a boss RC-2 loop pedal. Idk if he's upgraded, to perhaps the RC-3 or something else, but that is what he used to use.

you should install a bigsby on your ES/dot style guitar you are using here, you would get a much greater tone and also be able to tremolo

Marty, when you say people call it the "BB Box"... following the pentatonic rules there aren't two equal boxes. However, it sounds amazing. I still don't get why, any help?

Hey marty, Im a bit confused. I don't think the 8th fret on the E-string is in the major pentatonic, its the 7th fret. Theres no C in the Major Pent.
