I was a regular visitor to Radio Leeds from their early days, and it was nothing like as poorly run as this video portrays. What I remember was an exceptionally well run radio station. Being a teenager, I was there during Teenage Week. PA Diana Stenson asked me "Hey, Nigel, we're just about to air with a show called Bring A Disc, would you like to take part?" I said I'd love to, but I haven't brought a disc. She said "Oh, thats no problem, have a root through the record library, I'm sure you'll find something you like there" ! Happy days! The staff and presenters were a great set of people way back then. I remember Philip Hayton, Dave Williams, Diana Stenson, Rory O'Dowd, and Peter Ward.

It's always been a collection of the worst possible radio stations, forced on the public supposedly replacing the popular stations, closed by Harold Wilson, and Co.

In all common sense BBC Local Radio needs more funding to prevent it becoming 'regional' - there are dozens and dozens now of commercial 'pop' music stations so there's no need to waste BBC funds on it's 'Radio One' so that should go and the money saved spent on BBC Local Radio.
