It's Saturday November 5th 1977 and Radio 2 is beginning another day of programmes - the station is a year away from going 24-hours.
Tom Edwards takes care of proceedings as the station opens up, before hosting his regular Saturday breakfast show through until Ed Stewart's "Junior Choice" at 8 o'clock - a Radio 1 production, also carried on Radio 2's FM network.
From his early days as a presenter on Border TV and then with pirate stations City & Caroline, Tom had been a regular part of Radio 2's schedule through the 1970s - ITV viewers would also have seen him as an in-vision continuity announcer for Thames, ATV & HTV-West. Now that's what I call versatile!
Thanks for watching - and listening! :)
