I think Six Music could survive commercially. If it's successful as a public station it ought to be successful privately. I like it regardless of it's ownership.

No, no, no. What’s really important is that the BBC spend much more of its budget on unconscious bias training. When the Beeb announced they were going to spend at least £100,000,000 to be a bit less racist, my first thought was that this was less than 1% of what they should be spending and that the licence fee should be ten times as much as it is.

As reliable as C4 News is, it doesn’t have the same reach as the big 3. Also, it’s provided by ITN. BBC & The Guardian take a similar editorial stance on some things, but the BBC News isn't faxed from Rusbridger’s office to Broadcasting House. Programmes like Question Time are designed specifically to offer balanced viewpoints. The Proms, The Archers or Doctor bloody Who aren't propaganda. Perhaps your own personal biases are revealed by you seeing major biases where minor ones exist

@WinstonSmith46 Compare it to the UK print media (at either end of the politic spectrum), or to ITN and it’s near-constant glorification of the Conservative party. Witness the demographic balance of Question Time or This Week, and the pages of bias restrictions placed on BBC newsreaders or the panellists on something like Have I Got News For You. Witness the heavy editing of Live 8 in 2005 or the whole Gaza debacle in 2007. A significantly biased broadcaster wouldn’t do those things.

Its amazing that how 1984 is used these days to justify every tom dick and harry's view on the world. Most of those people forget that Orwell said himself, 'true freedom is to right to tell people what they don't want to hear.'

Another important discussion completely trivialised by Adam Buxton. If you want to keep Radio6 then better keep some actual adults in the discussion
