Back when 3 tv channels had better entertainment than the 900 plus channels we have now.

Very true, TV was much more entertaining back then, today you just feel like putting a brick through the screen with the crap they put on!

Wow!!! When you see what the BBC1 Christmas Day schedule used to be like compared to what it is now - makes you want to weep! We definitely had it better in the 70s!!!

I just love this. When the Xmas Radio Times was a true annual treat. This is really sad but I used to count up how many times the word Christmas/Xmas appeared for each channel and Christmas Day. And the one with the most was the winner. Still do it now in fact Ant p uk Teacher

Put me in the Delorean and get it up to 88mph then trash the thing! Thanks for postin this. I would go back in time to the 70s and stay there with the blink of an eye. I am a male of 59 and totaly enjoyed the TV and times back then. Noweredays, with channel TV and such, they should dedicate a channel to Christmas TV of yesteryear where you could select a year and play the TV from that year as it was on that day in that year. Just a dream I know but thanks to You Tube its still alive......

I was a paper boy back then and if you were not a regular you had no chance of getting the double issues and if you picked one up, you were told very sternly to put it back, they were like gold dust

As a kid I couldn't stand Bruce Forsyth being on the telly, he used to make my skin crawl, much in the same way Jimmy Saville did too. Far too hands on and slobbery.
