Pickett slide rule, Asimov's " How to Use a Slide Rule", and Smoley's "Logarithmic and Trigonometric Tables " - the trinity of High school math badassery. The class right after mine were never taught how to use them. Sigh. The first commercial calculators came with holsters too - they were suffering from Pickett envy. The slide rule holsters and Smoley books actually smelled smart.

LOL anyone taking a math test these days should learn to use one as it is not recognized by the teachers as a calculator.

At tech school our teachers had one. Too bad that when I started in 1976 the handheld calculator came out and slide rules disappeared over night 😢

Mine is 52 years old, my oldest possession. At 1st year in uni’ I bought a red l.e.d. Commodore calculator with no square roots, too expensive🤓.

Slide rules are not so advanced compare to circle rules.
