@@alovesupreme i watched him play for 19 years almost every game. Not just on sports center but every game was broadcast in Utah on kjazz back then. I've listened to other NBA hall of famers talk about him Gary Payton, Barron Davis, Isiah Thomas, Kenny Smith, Charles Barkley, magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Kevin Garnett and many more in documentaries and such. They all say he was physically tough and mentally tough. None of them say he was particularly dirty. Gary Payton whom hated playing against Stockton said specifically that dirty was not the word for him, he said he played the game the right way, the only way he knew how, tough, physical and heady. Jason Kidd has nothing but praise for stock, Steve Nash too. He set picks on big men hard picks. Rick mahorn of the bad boy pistions told me personally that Stockton set a couple of picks on him back in the day that got his attention. Most players his size wanted nothing to do with setting picks on centers and power forwards, he never backed down. Chris Webber describes him as the baddest mother fuc$#r in the NBA. Talks about how he set a dirty screen on Stockton in game one of a playoff series to set the tone early in game one. How he put his shoulder and elbow into stockons back and how Stockton popped up, slapped him on the butt and said nice screen Chris.... I watched that game, saw the screen, it was dirty and vicious and got called as a foul. Stockton was 37 years old at the time. Well past his prime but still putting his all into his game. So yes, Gilbert arenas played in the East, probably played vs Stockton what 6 to 8 times in his career.... Played different positions so never really guarded each other. Gilbert had a clear size advantage on him but he's crying about getting grabbed and held... Fight through it tough guy. Oh wait, can't bring the gun on the Court, it's in his locker... I'm going to take the opinion of his hall of Fame contemporary's over Gilbert arenas.
