Wow I didn’t expect to see this video ever reach 100k views, I must have been blessed by the algorithm. I made this video a couple years ago to show my buddy what is possible with the Soundtrap DAW. Its browser based and free so that’s all I had at the time. There are 3 recordings of voices and speaking, ones even in French, and then I took the song, muffled it, panned it to the right and added some room reverb. It’s cool to read all the comments of people that actually lived situations like this. In my high school days the closest we had to this experience was blasting it from my friends old Honda civic and driving around at midnight. Thanks for all the sick comments. If you want more like this, let me know. I had a lot of fun making this one.

Not knowing who you're going to run into, trying to find out who has the keg and how much it is to get into the tap. We would sometimes go over to a family members house to hang out have fun and this audio is the exact replication, this was also a time where all we had was flip phones, Nintendo DS's, GameCube... all the tech at that time. CD players with individual speakers you would have to hook up by individual wires but it had crazy bass on it, i remember just sticking my hands in the tubes just to feel the bass. going i to my senior year now, 2024. wow has time flied by. i should’ve listened to all those kids who told me to enjoy it. it’s finally hitting me now that’s i’m going to grow up. i’ve never been to any party’s, i’m not that type of person really but i would’ve loved to experience something like this. my parents talk to me about this era of music and it amazes me. i wish i was born in the mid to early 80s so i could’ve experienced the 90s growing up. but we are given a hand and can’t complain. my hope is to make the most of this last year of high school and really let it all out one last time.

While someone is in this room playing video games, one of the people watching them is replacing the lyrics of this song with comments to mess with them and psych them out while they play the game. Like this… “Caaaaalvin sucks at Maaaarrriioooo, he’s gooooin’ to, lose a liiiiiife on this level!”

i wish i could’ve experienced this just once. but i’m a senior. homeschooled from kindergarten to 7th grade, private christian school from 7th to sophomore year. junior year, skipped the entire year while being in a mental facility. now homeschooling again, not gonna graduate on time. i wish i had experienced just one teenage house party. wish i had any fun socializations or gatherings. wish i had friends. this seems like such a core part of the teenage experience but all i feel is envy. i wish i was here, not in a hospital all those years.

Hey I somewhat resonate with your experience. I had depression for maybe 4+ years and it’s just starting to get better the past few months. It made friendships and talking to people hard for me. There was nothing “broken” about me, it’s just that I needed tools to feel better about myself and the world, and then everything became easier. I don’t fit in at my school at all. I’ve found a couple friends outside of school. Last summer I was barely invited to hang out, this summer it’s been better. I’m planning to find a medium sized college where students are really involved in actives and clubs, and have similar political views as me. I don’t know if this helps at all.

I’m never going to be able to go to parties like this, I’m just not socially charming. I’ve kind of accepted it, I don’t need that to be happy. Aim to host a hangout one day, only invite people who respect you, and i promise it will give u more happiness then a highschool party anyway.

I know exactly what you mean. I wasn't homeschooled but I live in a town of ~600 people and it has to be like 70-80% of the population that is Mormon. The very few people I do get along with are moving on with their own shit now that we've graduated in May. I never got to experience any parties or anything and it disappoints me. I'm just hoping that I'll be able to do some fun shit that I missed out on in high school with friends I'll make in the Army. By the time I get out and can go to college, I'll be older than everyone and it'd probably be awkward for a 23 year old to party with a bunch of 18-19 year olds

Same here, living in Latin America sucks cuz most of the people listen to stuff you don't like or stuff we don't listen. At least in my case, I don't have friends with the same music taste as I, which is a shame.

As someone who grew up in that era I can assure you many people never heard of Deftones during the around the fur days. This kind of scenario almost never happened. You had to be really into music to be listening to Deftones let alone even heard of them. It was a great time for music even though the counter of boy and girl bands were super popular.

My whole body tingles from the memories. I have some Polaroid pictures that are nearly exactly like the one here. My God, practically nothing mattered. If you were cool, you were cool. Drop some acid and go play some pool or walk through the woods. Chain smoking and driving all night. No cell phone but we had pagers and pay phones. Working at a security monitoring facility and being so wound up on coke I was six inches from my monitor feverishly waiting for an alarm to go off. Dr. Pepper bottle that's half Dr. Pepper and half vodka, cruising the streets. I went "Leaving Las Vegas" for a few months. Mostly alcohol, very little food, too many cigarettes and my skin began to turn gray. That was scary and I came close to, shall we say, my own self induced final curtains. Skateboarding at the local movie theater. Chasing girls and getting chased by security. Climbing on the rooftops of buildings. Rolling joints out of notebook paper and smoking front row at "Dazed and Confused." Watching the world go by as life sneaks up behind you. Next thing you know you have three kids and the hardest substance you use is a couple of glasses of wine a night and some vaping, of all the things I did nicotine is the one that stuck around. Maybe I should write a "biography" or something, lol.
