Jesus said no one would know the day or hour, but in context he said it would be "after the tribulation of those days." So it can't be at any moment. Amen?

@@RobertFurrow Yes, but which things? He just got done saying, "And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” So it's obvious we'll be here for such upheaval even to the point of his return. Right? So we will not escape these things mentioned here. But then he goes on. He says, "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” So is it more likely that what we escape from is the being overcharged and the surfeiting, drunkeness, and the cares of this life and that day coming as a trap? I would say so. Amen? God bless brother.

One thing people don’t understand is that the tribulation / Great Tribulation IS God’s wrath. It isn’t satan’s or the antichrist’s wrath as some people say. God just uses the antichrist’s persecution as a tool for his wrath. We see in isaiah 10:5-16 13:1-6 zac 11:16-17 and habakkuk 1:5-12 that God uses persecution as a tool for his wrath and that’s exactly what he will do with the antichrist. If we go through the Tribulation then the bible would completely contradict 1 thes 5:9, 1:10 and rev 3:10 but people just don’t understand this. God never changes and he promised that he won’t destroy the righteous and the wicked together. He wil put the righteous safe first. (Gen 18: 20-33) The gathering of israel in matt 24 is in isa 11:10-12 and 27:12-13. I think people just want to interpret the bible their own way by putting their own ideas instead of just letting the bible speak for itself literally. God is a Sovereign Lord and if he wants to use the antichrist as a tool for his wrath, then he definitely can.

Isn't it more logical to think that he speaks of the wrath that comes the day of the Lord why ? Let's read -1 Th 5 2 Paul speaks of the day of the lord and says that he will come like a thief - 1 Th 5 4 Paul says that this day will surprise those who are in the dark -1 Th 5 5-7 Paul says that he is not in the dark but in the light so he does not sleep like those of darkness so he will not be surprised -1 Th 5 8-9 Paul says God's purpose for us is not wrath So in the day of the Lord Paul distinguishes those in the light and those in darkness and he says that those of the light will not be surprised because they will be sober and awake. So the wrath that is not intended for us is the wrath that comes on the day of the Lord who will surprise those who are in darkness

Thanks GameHunter, yes a good place to start is to delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desire of you heart. You can also walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Abide in Christ and let his Word abide in you and you will never be the same.

Thanks OneSShot, The day of the Lord is used in different ways to mean a special day or a time when God Shows up in Judgment. The Day of the Lord could and does at times refer to the tribulation period.
