You two are adorable!lol You cooked the steak perfectly under quite challenging conditions 🧐 I just bought the same watermelon hard seltzer yesterday 😂 What’s the nightly rate and availability where you camped? I would think that you’d have to reserve far ahead of your stay but not sure how it is right now.
@BamBamRVAdventures
Жыл бұрын
Thank you, that is very sweet of you! I made the reservation 6 months ago because I wanted a beach front campsite. It’s $45 per night with $10 reservation fee. The partial hook up campsite is $60/night but it is not beach front. There are some first come first serve campsites too on the top. The view is also beautiful up there.

What is that thing you were cooking with? A lava what? I never went to Jalama beach bc I thought its so expensive for camping. But it looks nice.
@BamBamRVAdventures
Жыл бұрын
Hi Jose, it is Lavabox. It’s a compact firepit and we bought the separate metal stand that could be use as a stand under the Lavabox or folded over the top as the grill so we can place the cast iron pan over it to cook also. One drawback when cooking is that it produces soots so we have wipe the soots off the bottom of our pan after cooking. The campsite fee is actually not expensive, it is less expensive than some other beach front sites in other beachfront campgrounds.
@Jose-sy1je
Жыл бұрын
@@BamBamRVAdventures Thx for the info. I think the campsites are close to $60 a night if I'm not mistaken. National Parks usually charge you half of that. Yosemite Valley is a popular spot for people to stay and nowhere near that price. I thought the reason the state runs these campgrounds is so that they remain affordable. That's just my opinion though. I'll check that lavabox of yours out.
@BamBamRVAdventures

@@Jose-sy1je seems like beachfront campgrounds are more expensive even with State runs campgrounds. They know people like the beach. 😂😂
@Jose-sy1je
Жыл бұрын
@@BamBamRVAdventures Probably true. I stayed in Mendocino before at the beach (a getaway for rich people from San Francisco) and didn't remotely pay that much. I think it's Santa Barbara just setting the prices. They are not part of the state parks. Btw, is there a train that runs by the Jalama campground? Many campgrounds I don't go to bc of the Amtrak running past them.
@BamBamRVAdventures

@@Jose-sy1je we heard it a few times during the day only but not disruptive at all. The beachfront campsites are further from the track so maybe that’ll why it not loud at all.
