beachhouse is like everything I could ever ask for in a music band. They are so special to me (personally) that I only listen to their music at night (my favourite time of the day) everything they do have this ethereal feeling to it, its even heavenly than heaven itself. It feels like death, it feels like life. It feels like everything and nothing at all. Others singer are good too but the way beach house captures this feeling or shall I say void, the capability to soothe whatever the ache there is is incomparable to any other💖💖💖💖💖 Beachhouse will forever be my favourite band.

Victoria and Alex are the duo of a lifetime. They came into this life for no other purpose than to create the most orgasmic sounds. We're lucky they decided to share it with the world. I often think of Victoria as an estranged woman, she has an aura of fog around herself which she has so delicately created, effortlessly. I see them as the type of artists who create songs from under their nails, and gently open their dresser drawers, drop them in, close it, and drift away.. never returning, but only reminiscing. Musicians are special people, musicians know our hearts. Beach House gets better with age, always changing, but forever staying the same.

Beach House are the new generation of dream pop and showgaze. After MBV, Cocteau Twins, Mazzy Star, Galaxie 500 and Slowdive stepped down during the 90s, Beach House jumped onto the scene during the mid to late 2000s and have been at the forefront of dream pop music ever since. A controversial opinion, but I think Beach House are THE best dream pop/shoegaze band; better than the pioneers of the genre themselves.

I relate more and feel deeper with BH’s music but if I were 30 in 1991 maybe I’d feel that way about MBV/CT. All I can say is that they are all top tier bands and the most influential bands in the genre. To me BH is the only truly classic modern dream pop/ shoegaze act. In 30 more years people will feel the way about beach house that they do about other said bands. They create music that is timeless.

Beach House: The soundtrack to living in a modest log cabin overlooking a Hawaiian beach while looking through granny's old memorabilia in the attic. Devotion: A young and newly married couple who are deeply in love embracing eachother in a dim-lit room, silhouetted on a honey-coloured glow. Teen Dream: Young children running through a meadow; being free and exploring the outdoors under the morning sun - imagining you were one of them. Bloom: Imagining the times during high-school when you and friends would sneak into the football stadium at night and hang out; while you had the girlfriend/boyfriend you thought you'd never breakup with in your arms. Afterwards you and your love would lie down on the grass with the stars above and look into each other's eyes lovestruck. Depression Cherry: Yearning for the intimacy and romance with the one you so tenderly loved until it ended. Thank Your Lucky Stars: Nostalgic for the time in your youth when naivety and ignorance of real-life was bliss and all the presents under the Christmas tree were yours - life was so much easier then. 7: Driving along a mountain pass at midnight while overlooking the cityscapes.

Who knew back in '04/'05 during the 'alternative'/indie rock resurgence [Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, The Shins, Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, MMJ, The New Pornographers, Beach House's debut]...that out of all of them, maybe the most consistent for 13-14 years now has indeed been Beach House. Three unimpeachable records (Teen Dream, Bloom, and now 7). The newest efforts from Arcade Fire (especially awful), Modest Mouse, MMJ (these two just already peaked), and finally The Shins (same thing plus Mercer should never self-produce a glitchy bells & whistles record like he's Danger Mouse) made me feel bored and come up limp. All hail Baltimore's greatest band ever!
@Boooo_39

Arcade Fire's newer music really hurts, since I loved every album(and song honestly) until Reflektor. It didn't worry me at first, most bands have a "mehh" album, and I'd already resigned myself to the fact that The Suburbs and Funeral would likely never be topped. But after Everything Now's release, I worry that they're stuck making music that's bad at it's worst and inoffensive at best On the other hand, my favorite Beach House albums were all released within the past 6years. They've been so amazing I literally get so frustrated I won't be able to see them live anytime soon, I saw them right after Bloom was released and it was like a religious experience

you're right. it's like you were skating downhill all throughout Dark Spring, then came Pay No Mind and you suddenly found yourself lying flat on the ground. but after a few seconds though, the warmth of the concrete started to feel really good... so you stayed down there, at peace in slumber, like there's no other place you'd rather be but there. and then Lemon Glow played, giving you the jolt you need to pick yourself up and start skating downhill again. so it's just a 25-sec transitional bump before the 3-min bliss. no complaints here. been looking forward to this album. and today's my birthday! thank you Beach House!

I honestly think that “Pay no mind” is the most beautiful track on the album. The placing of the song, being in between the dramatic and epic “Dark spring” and “Lemon Glow”was on point. It gave us a rollercoaster-like experience, instead of a flow. I believe that it was a key factor of this album being different from previous.

L'Inconnue has emerged as the most powerful song on the record for me. I was high again last night on 420 (I eat it no smoking it's much more powerful that way) This song grips me when I'm high last night it was like I followed it down a rabbit hole and when I was in this subterranean place with the song whirling around me it told me that life is so fragile and so painful and so beautiful all at once. It told me there is no god only us and it told me I will die just like all those I knew that have gone but don't ever be afraid of what is to come just try to live each minute without fear but instead joy. All the hatred arrogance and lousiness melted away down inside this rabbit hole and the truth was revealed to me by this song last night.

this is their best album by far. some parts remind me of the self-titled Slowdive album from last year. incredible stuff.

if you don’t like Go Get it, then maybe you just don’t get it. ;)

nah I get it haha. I've listened to that album for the past year and it's still going strong. 'Go get it' ruins the feel of the album in my opinion.

I totally agree that "Go get it" and also Falling ashes...in general the whole second half o the album...they just can't match the first. Those tracks up through Sugar for the Pill were just worldshattering for me.
