Steam Gala 2024 - Wheels of Industry

Beamish's 2024 Steam Gala saw a feast of rail and road steam action in the North East, with sun and showers and strong gusts of winds from Storm Kathleen, the event was a great showcase of steam.
Manning Wardle 0-6-0ST ‘Sir Berkeley’, courtesy of the Vintage Carriage Trust and Middleton Railway, visited the Colliery Railway hauling the rake of historic Chaldron wagons, joining resident Head Wrightson Coffee Pot No. 1.
On the narrow gauge, visiting from the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway, were Quarry Hunslet 0-4-0STs ‘Britomart’ and ‘Hugh Napier’, joining resident former Penrhyn Quarry Railway 'Glyder' and replica 'Samson'.
The event saw a variety of steam road vehicles, with video featuring: Aveling and Porter steam roller ‘Pegasus’, Fowler B6 Talisman road locomotive, Aveling and Porter traction engine ‘Majestic’, Burrell traction engine ‘Little Dorothy’, Foster traction engine ‘Sir William’ and Marshall traction engine number 55924.
