This reminds me of when I first started shaving my head because I started getting thinner on top. My Mom would constantly tell me how bad it looked to the point of harassment. It was the first time I had ever experienced a loved one being so critical of my appearance with regards to something I couldn't really control. Like yes, I didn't have to shave my head, but I liked how I looked so much better than I did where you could see my scalp through a thinning head of hair. And for someone to make me feel like shit about myself over something I felt like I couldn't help. It made me physically ill. Fortunately, she eventually stopped obsessing over it and came to accept my new look. But holy shit can people be absolute unempathetic assholes sometimes just because your decisions about your appearance don't line up with their expectations. My advice, double down the moment anyone challenges you on any decision you make about your appearance. The second you give an inch, is the second they feel like they have the power to guide your decisions about your appearance. Don't let them.

I've been growing my beard, for the first time, for 3 months untouched. This Friday I'm getting it trimmed for the first time and for about the last half of the month I've been mulling over what to tell my barber that I want done. After watching your video, I've determined to leave the length and to hit those 3 lines you mentioned. Thank you for your beard insight brother.
@livebearded
4 жыл бұрын
Awesome bro! It's always important to leave the length unless it's becoming see through. In this case your under beard just needs to catch up with the rest of your beard. Be sure the barber your going to specializes in beards and has actual prices displayed for beard trims. This will let you know that they do them often and your results should be pretty awesome.

Spencer - solid advice as always When first growing your beard, give it 3 months, without trimming the length, to really get an idea of what you have to work with It's definitely important to keep your cheeks and neck trimmed up as you start growing, it shows intention as opposed to just being scruffy and not shaving

I've served in the military, I've quit smoking, I've given up alcohol but the hardest thing I have ever done mentally is grow a beard, I would look at it 100 times a day analysing it and spent the entire journey doubting myself because of a couple patches it's only now after 6 months and multiple trim ups I'm starting to become a lot more satisfied, so no matter what you start with just remember that it all may pay off in the end. Don't give up and let that beard breath baby!!!!

Hey, that's Charles Haddon Spurgeon. I'm unbearded (only 16) but have sideburns. As for my profile picture, I read this quote and thought it was cool. I'm a member of the body of Christ and enjoy Spurgeon's sermons, but mostly my green tea, prayer, and Bible reading & study in the morning. I recorded a part from one of his sermons and use it as a secondary Alarm in the morning, basically the recording telling me to arise and get out of your carnal bed, don't waste a moment. Funny just seeing a picture and automatically recognizing who it is. Forgive me if this is just foolish talk.

The beard oil doesn't stop the itching, I also use a brush. Beard soft net and shampoo. Been growing for the past twelve days and I've had itchiness for the past five days, I've don'e everything by the book. I feel I should start a fresh, shave, heal and retry when my skin isn't so raw.
@livebearded
4 жыл бұрын
Hey brother, are the oil and washes you are using all natural? The chemicals found in most will definitely dry out and damage your skin, especially if you have more sensitive skin that is already irritated. It is very important to read the ingredients. About 5 drops of Live Bearded oil applied to the skin will relieve the itch, guaranteed. Our all natural wash is the perfect compliment to it as well. Once you start to get some length, adding beard butter for conditioning is the best way to go. Normal conditioners leave a film surrounding your beard hairs that, at first touch, leave the beard feeling ok but is very damaging and doing much more harm than good. Try us out, or any brand that offers all natural products, your beard will thank you.

Damn, that beard looks like a perfectly sculpted greenery hedge and the mustache is flawless. Like not a hair out of place. It’s the most perfect beard that’s not one of those pointless spray on beards that are out there. 〰️👌🏼

His advantage is that he doesn't have to live through a day with that, it only needs to hold 10 mins maximum for the video ;)

Bro, his beard looks this good all the time. We all have some serious beard envy around here.

I have a beard, it's trimmed neatly rather than a bushy type, but it gives my face a better look. I have a young face for my age and my beard makes me look more my age, which is better.

Im worried cuz my beard falls and I can see the follicles, sometimes it's embarrassing because they can be where I don't want them but it's also stressful cuz very few things we love as man as our beards, any suggestion bro?

I made the rookie mistake and shaved under my jaw line! Dumb question but do I let the hair grow out further down my neck and resculpt my beard?

How do you deal with summer with a beard? If you're doing stuff and you sweat, and you wipe your face, all of a sudden your beard gets bumped, and brushed, and moved around. Do you leave it until you get a chance to fix it? Even if you're in public? Do you carry a comb on you? How do you deal with combing it back into place without getting it wet? (How do you deal with the frizzyness of static when it's dry) What about swimming? If you go over to a buddies, or to the beach, do you carry your comb with you? Would you apply your oil and butter in the morning if you know you're getting into the water in a few hours, or would you do all that when you get home? I work at a job where I sweat a lot during the summer. I generally wash my face in the morning, brush out my beard, and am on my way. When I get home from work I'll have a shower and clean up. Should I apply my oil in the morning and again after work? Should I only do it once a day? What's better? Before work so I look good for the day, or after I shower when I have a chance to clean my beard properly? So many questions from a new beardsman.
