Great video! The only thing I would add is I put a rubber grommet on the hole the rope comes out of the stick on the keep the rope from possibly contacting a bur that I missed on deburring the hole.

If they will Crack if you tighten them up too much be careful using them in cold weather. Plastic can fail very easily during those conditions

What grade screws did you use? Why didn’t you just drill all the way through and use a longer screw?

Great video! I have the muddy pro sticks and the ninja sticks. The only thing the ninja stick is missing is this cam cleat. I just don’t see anyway to get the cam cleat installed. Do you think it’s possible?

I am going to buy a saddle but I am wondering what will come with it and other things I will need. I not familiar with all the terms you use so can you explain all the parts names and where they go?

So I have modded heliums with the cam cleats and was looking at getting some beast sticks to do the same. Why didn't you just drill through to the other side and bolt through both sides of the stick instead of fighting the nut on the inside? Is there something I'm missing?
@BoudreauxBoswell

Why do a half ass job? It’s a clean look with no exposed nut and I image it’s stronger too.
@F150Yaker

@@BoudreauxBoswell getting both sides of the stick is stronger for sure but I will agree that only going through one looks cleaner. It's not about taking a shortcut but about strength is why I was asking.

@TXsportsman I can't find a video or pics anywhere of where/how to drill out and install a cam cleat on hawk heliums - do you have a link to any resources to help a guy out so I can be a little more efficient with my single sticking??

After using them this season, are you happy with the way they are functioning?
@BoudreauxBoswell

Trick question, Yes I like how the cam cleat works on the beast sticks. If I had to do it again, I would find a different stick. The beast sticks are not worth what they cost they are over hyped.

@@BoudreauxBoswell Thanks for the response. I have the Lone Wolf Custom three-step sticks. They are also overpriced, but I do think they are still one of the top sticks out there. Their stacking system is better, but still has flaws. I’ve played with all sorts of rope & strap mods as well as versa-straps. The cam cleats seems to be the quickest/easiest method. I may give it a try.

Great video, EXCEPT why didn't you show us how it works? A quick turn around a tree in your yard or telephone pole or something, kind of left us hanging.
@BoudreauxBoswell

Fair point, I didn’t show how they work as I assumed most people if interested in the cam cleat mod would know how a cam cleat functioned. Thanks for the feedback, I will agree with you, I should have shown a short demo!

Yeah, It works out fine. If I were to do it again I would probably use a 7mm, but if you already have some 6mm rope then it will work.

After 1.5 years I definitely agree with you, Beast sticks are okay but overrated. When it is really cold outside and I'm climbing a tree 20 inches in diameter, my Baffin Titan boots won't hardly even fit on the standoffs because there is no room. Also even with stealth strips, if the whole standoff isn't touching the tree and you knock it with your boot on accident, it rings thru the woods like a dinner bell. That being said, i spent my hard earned money already and stuck with them.

6mm is actually a bit less than 1/4". 6mm = 0.236" 0.236" < 0.25". Your cord is too small for that cam cleat.
