I read about this technique before - once you’ve capitulated to one, even tiny, concession/ confession you’re done for. Your brain can’t handle to dissonance so then starts working to justify/ rationalise the concession / confession. Like a crack in a dam this ultimately wreaks cognitive devastation where you no longer know what you believe or what’s true anymore and it shatters your faith even in yourself. It’s an insidious mental rot.

One of the times this happened to James, there were people spamming his threads with a picture. Not like, a thread or two, ten or fifteen people. Most of his threads, for weeks, maybe a month. The struggle session was actually breaking the Twitter ToS for targeted harassment, so he asked people to report them. I probably reported over a hundred early on. More, later, as it kept going on. I’m not the type who usually does that sort of thing. But it actually needs to be done and someone needs to do it, even if it means spending an hour just reporting one after another after another. The Marxists have people who LIVE for this kind of thing. The Internet is most of their life. They spent years after years sharing, liking, signal boosting. Tumblr, FB, Twitter. Trying to get anyone in trouble they could. Most of us have jobs. We have lives. We have hobbies. Families and friends. Who spends an hour going through the Twitter reporting process over and over and over? If you’re reading this and witness a struggle session, digitally, you should make that time. It doesn’t cost money, you don’t money, you don’t even have to get up from your chair or put your phone down. It’s almost the bare minimum.

Yup. Had that when a friend said in 2020 that he's "shaking because we just had a president that didn't renounce racism even once." So obviously being his friend I wanted to fact check him and help him with a video montage of 40+ times Trump denounced various white supremacists in front of reporters. (Note: I don't like Trump, didn't vote for him.) I didn't want my friend to get embarrassed when his statement is so easily disproven. Instead his Antifa friends dogpiled me. They tried to change the subject and I kept on task about his statement of "not even once" (because the distractions were all opinions, "I know what he really feels" or "he hates Hispanics because of the southern border policy" etc) because... I didn't want him to be embarrassed in the future. Not a single one of them watched my video evidence. And these were people I played music with, recorded with, etc all just dogpiled me with extra dosage of rabies. I felt bad for not sticking to it, but after the third or fourth attempt to stick to the subject, I just walked away. @@TheOtherBradBird oh it's no big deal haha that's a fair question to ask. Back then it was the 2016 election where we didn't know much about Trump. I'm more of a LP guy, so I voted for Gary Johnson in spite of his horrible VP pick. I saw through the MSM messaging of lambasting him for not knowing Aleppo, because I didn't care about focusing on Syria anyway. And his lack of knowing what world leaders he liked... I agree. I can't think of any I admire globally. I also voted in 2020 for Jo Jorgensen and her absolutely awesome VP pick in Spike Cohen. She obviously had a messaging team that needed to be up to date on what was the real zeitgeist instead of rolling with MSM messaging, and the top of the LP was infested with failed Democrats (before the Reno reset) anyway. But to me both her and Gary Johnson were good. There were a few things I didn't like about Trump (his first term) which is probably similar to Tim Pool's nit picks, his trade policy, missile at the Iranian general, cabinet picks, etc. But there were things I could agree with Trump, such as the fight to lower regulations, lower taxes, and olive branch diplomacy where appropriate.

Aim to treat others with dignity, too, despite how difficult that can be when when they are not acting with dignity. I see it as a kind of core strength for the mind. I’ve read countless books about the cultural revolution and it’s the ultimate tool, these public shamings. I urge Moms for liberty to stand strong, not let normal she said, she said arguments bring down all the amazing work you’ve done. We do not eat our own! And, I can’t tell you both how wonderful I felt after I stood strong, did not engage, and kept living my life shame free. I felt better than I’ve felt in years and I don’t give a dime if some acquaintances unfriend me with their “I’m disappointed to see this kind of intolerance from you” BS if I’m really someone you hold in high regard that should make you think all the more. I have had so many people tell me in DM’s and in person how much they appreciate me standing unapologetic for what is right. I think James is right, do not engage, that’s what they want, if you are going to write anything, leave resources, links, etc. Because I did that and a lot of people who didn’t want to get involved publicly went and told me they explored those links and resources and their eyes were opened wide. Not everyone is like the people I assume subscribe to James private podcast, we dedicate time, resource, and more to understanding this crazy world. Most people are just getting the headlines, and then are attracted to the drama of a struggle session, but this can be a good time to plant some seeds not through conversation, but through dropping a few accounts, videos, etc. I’ve just recently started to get through to my closest brother whom with my relationship has really suffered over the last 3 years. This is what happened to Yorkshire Cricket Club in England. They were accused of systemic racism. They initiated an investigation (a weak move), and the inevitable result was that, yes, the club was racist. After that came the apologies, the promises to do better, and the "education" everyone associated with the club needed. They thought that confessing would give them relief, but it was just the start of their misery.

It's only 'torture' if you feel the pressure. If you see the mentally ill for what they are, you stop worrying about what they think about you or whatever demands they make. Have fun with them. They need you to take them seriously. Ask questions that expose their assumptions and inconsistencies. Laugh at them, and they go away.

I was thinking the same thing. The struggle session is identical to how narcissists pounce on you, using the same gaslighting techniques, trying to get you to confess to things you've never done. The result is the same...emotionally drained and mentally exhausted.

By extension, having established that an organization can be struggled just as an individual can, this is a way to understand literally everything about how marxists got so much influence. They present synthetic crimes, synthetic problems (and coming up with these is the purpose of problematizing) based on their premises, and people who don't see how and what premises have been snuck in (so most people and especially institutions) walk into the trap and start dancing to the marxists' tune. A generic form: This is what you try to do and why. Yes, that is what we do and why You are failing to uphold these promises (which you never made) and should change to meet them. Yes, we are and yes we should. Before the first yes there should be a long, thoughtful pause. Before the second, you should both be asking if you actually promised anything and if you did, you should also ask if the expectation is reasonable and then if the solution is realistic. Chances are that the answer to all those questions are no, that it is at least slightly wrong in literally every way. That is how they soothe people to shut down the defense, and this is basically a struggle session, arranged by a small group of radical activists doing all they can to appear lile a majority.

Your analogy to Harry Potter’s experience in the books is apt. “The Order Of The Phoenix” is an incredibly prescient fable exploring the social conditioning that is going on in today’s world, and written years before it began. It is interesting that as woke as JK Rowling is, she became the target of a massive cancellation campaign due to her not capitulating to the Trans lobby.

We're going through a relatively small struggle session right now that's been going on for about a week and half to two-weeks, lol. Luckily, it's mostly contained to Facebook by what I can tell, and we're mostly hermits anyway so not much to pressure us socially, but the person leading the struggle session is local and has 20,000 something fb followers and we have like 50 and none of them have come to our defense (and those engaging in the struggle sessions have mentioned this fact multiple times), plus we are permabanned on twitter, so we are crippled on that front, so it is a bit overwhelming, but we are never going to apologize. It only further proves I was right to say something in the first place.

Back in 1982 my first year in university the sociology professor stated that the lower class is mean spirited, that gives you everything you need to know. First working class housing out performs the stock market, secondly the lower class are actually the working class, arguing this is a PHD level thesis, not my argument, the professor's argument, finally the working class is the front line of success and any attack on the front line is inciting civil war. Watch how fast the left backs down when this is explained to them. When attacking the left examples of how intolerable their demands are and that they are inciting civil war. They are an irrelevant and insignificant group of people who have stolen the public purse only because the working class has lost sight of draw no Quarter. A judge accused me of this and gave me this insight of what is the greatest threat to their power

I went through one of these online in the early 2010s on a forum I had been a part of since the 90s, and had made several friends with. The forum was moderated, though these days most moderators are Marxists whether they know it or not, but I was in a section of the board dedicated to politics where there was no moderation. It began when I mentioned I wasn't a feminist. Someone would respond that feminism is about equality between the sexes, and if you are not a feminist you must think women are inferior. I'd explain that I believe in equality, and do not thnk women are inferior, but am not a feminist because are too much of it is about hatred of men. Instead of saying "that makes sense" and leaving it at that, nearly the entire board jumped all over me, saying I can't believe in equality and not be feminist, and I'm now a sexist piece of shit. Everything I would say after that trying to dig myself out, because at the time I really wanted these people's respect, would dig my own hole further. It got personal to the point where I'm being told my girlfriend at the time needs to leave me, and they begin digging up old posts I made throughout the years to support their narrative that I'm a sexist piece of shit. I soon began to realize there were no rules these people followed. If you were an outsider, which I was, everything you said was turned around. This was around the time of the 2012 election, and if I said something critical of Mitt Romney, I was insulted and told that I need to criticize Mitt for X instead of Y, and to stop being such a useless dumbass. After months of trying to please these people, I finally gave up and moved on. I haven't joined a regular web forum since then.

The most sadistic thing about these is that it works perhaps most effectively on people who are compassionate and conscientious. It's particularly evil and I have experienced this myself in Christian organizations and churches during the summer of 2020 riots. Mandatory "bible study" lead by activists who spend 45-60 mins backhandedly and directly accusing all the staff of being racists, un-Christian, and cruel if we didn't support BLM or if anyone resisted being called racist. I saw compassionate Christian church members get bullied like this into repeating slogans, changing avatars, using pronouns, and most importantly-shame and gossip about everyone who wasn't joining them.
