Norman Smith was such a genius and very kind person. I met him during the recording of Singapore Silk Torpedo by The Pretty Things. He did a fantastic job producing a lot of records by The Pretty Things, including their masterpieces S.F.Sorrow (1968) and Parachute (1970). R.I.P Norman!

Loved this interview, and didn't know he signed Pink Floyd. Talk about being on the ground floor with two of ,if not the two biggest groups of all time. Unbelievable!

Strange this info wasn't listed! Date this was done is important! This idea he puts forth at 20:10 , that the Beatles were glad to dump Pete because girls liked him, is silly. THEY wanted a better drummer and got one! it's that simple. 26:02 Yoko may not have directly broken up the band but she poisoned John's mind and filled him with "you're better, (WE'RE better!)) than this group" bullshit. It's SO true that LOVE IS BLIND!

@@lamper2 i bet theres a bit of truth in his statement on chicks with Pete, just compounded the fact that he couldnt play shit properly at times

John Lennon met Yoko Ono in nov 1966 right? So she can't have influenced him on Rubber Soul. Love that album btw. Got great Lennon tracks too. Funny how his experience was otherwise. Thanks for the interview!

He seems like a classy guy. I only wish that he had turned up the Bass and Drums in those early recordings.
