I love the mutual respect, the hug at the start, the French kiss at the end. Most players seem to hate each other now Respect to these two guys

Remember this final well, was not long after the big split! Remember them playing "The show must go on" by Queen when showing highlights of the whole tournament!

Is it me, or does it seem like the double and triple beds were smaller back then and harder to hit? I guess because of the older wire, not like the blade technology these days.
@d4ve19
Жыл бұрын
The trebles and double were slightly smaller yes, due to thicker wire and the clips. Which makes it all the more impressive Taylor and Priestly in the real worlds were averaging ton+ on these boards.
@josephd.2725
Жыл бұрын
@@d4ve19 For sure man. I used to practice on those older thick wire boards with clips too.. so many bounce outs! Your board was considered "advanced" back then if you didn't have clips on the bullseye ring! That was it! 🤣

Winner averaging 90, loser 88. These fellas were solid but not a patch on Taylor and Priestley, who averaged 98 and 101 in the PDC/WDC final that year. That Burnett and Beaton moved to the PDC within a few years and neither came close to becoming the real world champion is proof that the BDO was a weaker competition.
