The 10-B was the smallest of Bucyrus-Erie's friction crane line, but it compensated by being fast. This operator is in his 80's, and knows how to get the most out of the machine.
Behind the 10-B is the good-running 30-B, seen in many videos. The design of the 10-B and 30-B is so similar that sometimes it looks like a double exposure. To the right, the big shovel is the recently arrived NorthWest 180-D., still being debugged
The 10-B, like the CAT D2 + D4, was ideal for contractors who needed to transport machines from job to job frequently. 10-B's were frequently purchased with 3 fronts - hoe, crane, and shovel, making the 10-B a versatile contractor's machine. There was also an optional high speed travel gear. Many years ago I helped move a 10-B that had those 3 fronts. We did it on a slideback, not a lowboy, although the route had to be circuitous. Unfortunately, we couldn't transport the shovel front.
At 14:00, you see a "feature" of Brownsville - all material movement is either circular or shuttle.
Beginning at 18:27, all 3 machines are shown staying out of each other's way.
