I think it's company based. Some advise to turn it off in the last manual phase of the flight so the pilot doesn't look at the ILS indicators, which become quite sensitive at the very end, and doesn't chase the indicator at all cost. Reminder to look outside.

How you film American cockpit despite sterile rule by FAA? Note N4032T is actually A319
@13ralph41
2 жыл бұрын
sterile cockpit rule is no unnecessary communications/talking below 10,000, nothing about a jumpseat passenger video taping
@MD88Pilot
2 жыл бұрын
Only the PF and PM are subjected to sterile cockpit. The jump seater is being quiet and allowing them to do their job which really doesn't interfere. However, I would bet that the airline's SOPs have a policy on videoing in the flight deck.

@@CaptAviator So it is inverted. Because to turn OFF, you put it DOWN. And to turn ON, you put it UP. At least here (south america), the A320 is configured in this style, not Boeing style.

@@CH-nb9yy Yeap. I worked with A320/A330 family for 11 years before moving to B777 and, despite knowing that every part of the airplane is customizable, i have never seen in all these years this kind of customization. In boeing planes, it is normal to turn ON putting the button to DOWN (landing light, taxi and turn off, strobe and taxi camera light, Boeing 777, for example). But NOT in airbus family.
